Have you seen Minnie’s pantsuit, designed by Stella McCartney in honor of Disneyland Paris’ 30th anniversary? It’s polka-dotted, purple, and perfect!
Minnie will be well-suited to kick off Disneyland Paris’ 30th Anniversary in her new outfit. Here’s why I’m excited about Minnie’s runway-ready polka-dotted Parisian pantsuit, which is très magnifique!
When Disney announced that Minnie will be wearing a pantsuit this spring in Disneyland Paris, some Disney fans were not impressed. The loudest voices dominated the news cycle and social media, but largely, Disney fans, who know that characters wear plenty of different outfits, are ready to embrace this beautifully designed pantsuit. In my opinion, the pantsuit Minnie will be wearing in Europe to kick off the 30th anniversary celebrations is something to get very excited about.

But also, let’s acknowledge how spectacularly awesome the 30th anniversary party looks to be! Photo courtesy of Disney

Minnie’s Pantsuit Designed by Stella McCartney
Minnie is known to be one of the most fashionable Disney characters in history alongside her best pal, Daisy Duck. In honor of Disneyland Paris’ 30th Anniversary, Disney thought it would be fitting (ha) for her to get a seriously chic outfit designed by UK fashion designer, Stella McCartney.
And yes, she’s that McCartney. You might not be familiar with Stella McCartney’s designs, but you have most definitely heard of her rock star father, Paul.

Not only did Stella McCartney design Minnie’s limited edition outfit, she also teamed up with Disney to create a Minnie Mouse T-shirt in honor of International Women’s Day, which will be released day of (on March 8). A photo of this design has not yet been released, but I am very excited to see it.
I love when Disney teams up with luxury brands to create designer clothing and accessories, like Gucci, Givenchy, Coach, and Kate Spade.
Along with the Minnie Mouse t-shirt, Stella McCartney will also be releasing a Fantasia-inspired collection, which I cannot wait to see.

The Many Outfits of Minnie Mouse
This isn’t the first time Minnie Mouse has donned pants, so the kerfuffle is perplexing …

In 2019, Minnie Mouse was announced as a new captain for Disney Cruise Line, with a prominent role on the Disney Wish. And her pants didn’t cause a media stir.

And if it is being argued that Minnie’s red polka dots are the iconic piece we’re missing in McCartney’s pantsuit, we will gladly interrupt this program for a Minnie Mouse catwalk of various designs.

Minnie is best friends with style-savvy Daisy Duck, so you know she’s not just stepping out in whatever. Her outfits are surely Daisy-approved, and we’d love to see how jealous Daisy was when Minnie came out in that pantsuit for the first time.

Releasing During Women’s History Month
This is the first time Minnie will be sporting a pantsuit, and what better place to introduce this look than in Paris?
When asked what inspired this look, Stella McCartney said, “This new take on her signature polka dots makes Minnie Mouse a symbol of progress for a new generation.”
Minnie will be sporting the new look at Walt Disney Studios Park this March in honor of Women’s History Month. The suit is what Disney calls “limited time magic,” which means you don’t have any time to waste if you want to see it in person. And yes, for those who aren’t fans, it does signal that you’ll be able to catch Minnie in her dress once again in Paris, so don’t fret.
Though I should add, she won’t be going directly back to the skirt for which she is most well-known. Minnie’s pantsuit appears to be scheduled for just the month of March, and then she will change into her iridescent, futuristic pink dress for the actual 30th anniversary.
