We’re sharing what we know about the brand-new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show that’s now open in Disney World
Zootopia fans, we’ve got exciting news: Disney World is getting an attraction based on your favorite film. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has welcomed a brand-new show featuring immersive effects called Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
So, what do we know about Zootopia: Better Zoogether!? We’re sharing all of the details you need to know, including
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Overview
Back in 2023, Disney revealed at Destination D23 that a Zootopia-themed 3D show would come to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom theme park – and that it would replace the long-running show It’s Tough to Be a Bug!
Just a year later, at the 2024 D23 Expo, it was revealed that the planned Zootopia-themed show would be called Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, and fans learned this new addition would open sometime “next winter.”
Like It’s Tough to Be a Bug!, the new Zootopia-inspired show at Animal Kingdom features an animatronic, this time of Officer Clawhause (who looks similar to the animatronic found in Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia: Hot Pursuit attraction).
Some of the original effects of It’s Tough to Be a Bug! have also returned in Zootopia: Better Zoogether!. However, the show also features some brand-new ones. For example, the show includes a brand-new scent (one that’s not a stink bug, thankfully).
What Happens During the Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Show?
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! focuses on Zoogether Day, an event similar to Earth Day that’s full of festivities meant to celebrate unity amongst the diverse biomes of the city. The show requires 3D glasses – or Carrot Vision glasses, as they’re now called – and guests will watch the day’s big performance: a broadcast similar to a New Year’s Eve celebration.
During the show, Zootopia: Better Zoogether! takes guests to different biomes to see how each celebrates Zoogether Day. You might spot ice skating polar bears, a new location from Zootopia 2, and visit Marsh Market to see some water ballet along the way. The storyline will feature familiar and brand-new characters, including Heidi Howler, a slick-talking wolf who’s hosting the Zoogether Day LIVE! broadcast.

And the grand finale? It features superstar Gazelle.
According to Danny Handke, Senior Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, the show’s storyline came together during preproduction for Zootopia 2. Handke worked closely with Byron Howard and Jared Bush, the film’s directors, to incorporate new characters and find story points that could align between the film and the Animal Kingdom attraction. The same animators who worked on Zootopia 2 worked on Zootopia: Better Zoogether! (in fact, they worked on the attraction before the film!).
And if you love Easter eggs, keep your eyes peeled! Look out in the queue for plenty of Easter eggs referencing not only Zootopia but Animal Kingdom (Pawdora, anyone?).
When Will Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Open at Disney World?
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! opened on November 7, 2025.
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! Location
Zootopia: Better Zoogether! lives inside the Tree of Life, where It’s Tough to Be a Bug! was previously showing.

There’s one more surprise in store, too. In addition to Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, a new meet and greet located at the Zoogether Day Gathering Spot (in Discovery Island near the Tree of Life) will offer guests the chance to meet Judy and Nick. The pair will sport new looks from the upcoming Zootopia 2 film.
