We’re sharing your complete guide to Zootopia, a new land you can now visit at Shanghai Disneyland.

The first-ever Zootopia-inspired land inside of a Disney theme park is here! Zootopia opened on December 20, 2023. With new attractions, shops, and dining establishments, plus plenty of characters to meet and greet, it’s a must-visit destination within Shanghai’s Disneyland Park. Zootopia is the seventh land within Shanghai Disneyland and the second major expansion of Shanghai’s version of Disneyland since its opening in 2016.

Zootopia Opening Details

Wondering what you can expect at Zootopia? The land opened in December 2023 with a completely original ride, along with dining areas and a shopping experience. Plus, there are tons of characters from the film you can meet!

Zootopia Attractions: Rides and Experiences

The major ride you’ll find in the land is Zootopia: Hot Pursuit. Along with the ride, there are several meet-and-greet opportunities for guests to enjoy. We’re sharing all the details below.

Zootopia: Hot Pursuit

On the ride, guests will become rookie police officers with the Zootopia Police Department, joining Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on a mission. The storyline is set after the events of the film, and the residents of Zootopia are celebrating Zootopia Day with a big concert by superstar Gazelle. On the ride, you’ll start off being greeted by Officer Clawhauser, who is the animatronic we’ve gotten a few previews of over the years!

But, time with Officer Clawhauser will be short. That’s because an alarm will be set off, and you’ll be brought in for an emergency briefing with Chief Bogo. He’ll tell you that Gazelle has been kidnapped ahead of the concert, and you’ll be assigned as backup to Officer Judy Hopps and her partner, Nick Wilde, to find her.

Your ride vehicle will be a police car, which will take you throughout Zootopia in search of Gazelle.

Zootopia Land is located at Shanghai Disneyland Park.

Will there be a Zootopia Land at Walt Disney World or Disneyland in the U.S.?

Currently, there are no official plans to recreate Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia Land at either of the U.S. resorts.
