BREAKING: New Disney Cruise Line Mask Policy Announced

by | Mar 4, 2022 | Disney Cruise Line, Disney Cruise Line News

Disney has heavily revised its Disney Cruise Line mask policy, with masks being optional in most locations throughout its ships.

As cases of COVID-19 continue to decrease across the US, Disney Cruise Line has announced an update to its policy regarding face coverings. Starting on March 11, face masks will be optional in most locations throughout cruise ships departing from a US port.

This policy change is a result of new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

While most locations on each ship will have face coverings be optional, all guests age 2 and older will be required to wear them in the Walt Disney Theatre, regardless of vaccination status.

Additionally, guests under age 5 who are not yet eligible for vaccination will need to wear face coverings in Youth Activities spaces and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. DCL still strongly recommends that these guests wear their masks in all indoor locations, but they won’t be requiring it anymore.

Face coverings may still be required in some ports of call, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead and bring a few masks with you just in case.

Disney Cruise Line COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

Although Disney Cruise Line is revising its face mask policy, the current vaccination policy still stands. All COVID-19 vaccine-eligible guests must show proof of vaccine in order to board a ship.

The only guests who are not required to be vaccinated at this time are those under 5 who are not yet eligible for the vaccine. Those guests must provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 3 days and 24 hours before their sail date. Rapid, or antigen, tests are not accepted.
