Black Widow drops on Disney+ for $29.99 on July 9th via Premier Access. And if you’re an early bird (or perhaps a night owl?), you can start streaming Black Widow as early as 3 AM ET. (UK theaters have already had their in-person Black Widow premiere, and some select US chains are slated to preview the film starting on July 8th, a day ahead of the Disney+ release.)
I can’t believe the July 9th premiere of Black Widow is finally here. Like so many out there, I can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store in this long-awaited final installment of Scalett Johansson’s portrayal of Natasha Romanoff.
Here are my top 5 reasons I can’t wait for the Black Widow premiere on July 9th, in theaters and on Disney+.
1. Movie theaters, here we come!

For so many of us, this is the return to cinematic normal we were looking for with an added plus: Disney +, to be exact. If you’re like me, there’s nothing like watching Marvel on the big screen and sharing the excitement with a theater full of your newly found BFFs. Now for the first time, Marvel fans also have the option to watch it again, the same day, at home with Disney + Premier Access for $29.99. (Don’t want to shell out for Premier Access? You’re looking at an October 6th release date included in your basic Disney + subscription.)
2. We will learn more about the woman behind Black Widow.

Since her debut in Iron Man 2, Black Widow has been an intricate part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Black Widow’s connection to each of the other Avengers is paid off in her soul-for-a-Soul-Stone scene in End Game, but there is so much about Natasha Romanoff we don’t know, like what happened in Budapest. I do not doubt that Marvel will answer this and so many other questions.
3. I’m ready to fall in love/hate with the newest villain of the MCU.

When it comes to character depth, Marvel’s development is unmatched. From Kilmonger’s touching tribute to his ancestors to Thanos, The Mad Titan’s tearful goodbye to Gamora, the relationship status between fans and Marvel Villains is “complicated,” and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Something tells me Taskmaster’s mimicking moves will deliver the twists and turns we’ve been waiting for.
4. The Black Widow trailers delivered!

“At some point, we all have to choose between what the world wants you to be and who you are. I made my choice. I’m done running.” – Black Widow.
I know what the world wants me to be, but after a year of yoga pants and messy buns, I, too, am done running from who I am. So if the event has a dress code, odds are I won’t be attending unless, of course, it’s Dapper Day. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out—this and so many trailer scenes connected with the audience.
5. The Captain America: Civil War connection never disappoints.

Like we’ve seen in Black Panther and the tender moments between Wanda and Vision, via Infinity War, the timing of Black Widow is immediately after Civil War. Going home to reflect and lick your wounds after a major falling out with friends that also caused a global catastrophe adds an element to the movie that’ll be well worth the price of admission—whether that’s $30 for a ticket and popcorn at the cinema or $30 for early access right from your own couch.
With the premiere of Black Widow on July 9th, there are so many things to be excited about. Let us know what you’re excited for in a comment on our Facebook page. And if you’re like me and love a good watch party, be sure to check out the Moana-themed watch party for more inspiration.
