As part of its continuing evolution, Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life has added new acts to the show in Disney Springs. We’re sharing a preview of these new additions that were added last month.
Exciting news for Cirque du Soleil fans! Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life opened in Disney Springs in 2021, featuring aerial artists, acrobatics, and more incredible feats from the company. And Cirque du Soleil has updated the show to add in new acts so that new and returning fans alike can enjoy the updated experience!
Drawn to Life New Acts
Drawn to Life has introduced three new acts featuring acrobatics, aerial artists, and even a “flying” guitarist. The new acts include:
- Icarian Games: Paying tribute to Disnyey’s animated forests, and forest creatures, this act features “a pair of Ethiopian artists performing acrobatic feats in which one lies on his or her back and uses his or her legs and feet to toss the other performer in the air.”
- Dream of Colors: During this act, aerial hoop artists take to the air in a tribute to the ink and paint animation artists. The act features “dramatic colors ‘painted’ by human trapeze artists on a suspended wheel.”
- During the Rhythmic Gymnastics act, a “flying” guitarist now joins the group
Additionally, new musical composition was added for each of these exciting updates.
Drawn to Life tells the story of Julia, a 12-year-old who discovers a gift left by her late animator father — a letter urging her to complete a drawing he had not finished. Julie is brought into a world of wonders, where drawings from her childhood come to life, with Disney animated characters as her guide. As she continues on the quest to complete her father’s journey, she begins to imagine new possibilities and strives “to animate the story of her future.”
