We’re sharing our review of the World of Color Dessert Party that you can attend at Disney California Adventure.
To make Disney Parks’ nighttime spectacular even more magical, both Disney World and Disneyland Resort offer dessert parties that go along with some of their fireworks shows. These dessert parties are an additional cost to your base ticket price, but provide you with a premium viewing area for the show, along with complimentary treats and drinks. WDW Magazine Communications Director Tatjana Lazar checked out the World of Color Dessert Party in Disney California Adventure, and we’re sharing what her experience was like!
World of Color Dessert Party Cost and Details
The World of Color Dessert Party costs $89 per guest, plus tax and gratuity. Children aged two and younger can attend free of charge, provided they will need to sit on an adult’s lap. This cost is in addition to your park ticket, but includes:
- Reserved seating for World of Color – ONE in a preferred viewing area of Paradise Gardens Park with tables and folding chairs.
- A selection of desserts and cheeses
- Unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
- An alcoholic beverage for adults aged 21 and older
Typically, World of Color – ONE has two showtimes per night, so you can choose which performance you want to attend when you book. Your reservation time starts about an hour before the show, allowing you and your group to enjoy the food and refreshments as you prepare for the show.
Arrival and Check-In Process

When it comes time to check in, you can do so at the check-in area at the Eureka water wheel near the Redwood Creek Challenge. If you check in earlier, you can also do that. You will be given a wristband and instructions for when you return.
WDW Magazine Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar, had the chance to check out the World of Color Dessert Party earlier this year. She checked in for the dessert party early, and asked if she would be able to add another person to her ticket if there was availability. That day, there was availability available, and they were able to get a last-minute ticket. Note that this may not always be the case, but if you are looking to grab a last-minute booking you can always ask!
When it was their time to check in, they were brought to their assigned seats by a Cast Member who walked them to their table. At their table, they were joined by two other people (who were lovely!), so if you are a small party, know that you may be paired with others.
Food and Premium Viewing

Once seated, a Cast Member will bring you a plate with an offering of desserts, cheese, crackers, and grapes. You can ask for more at any point, so if you particularly like something you can always check with a Cast Member to get more of that. Some of the dessert options included a Mickey krispie, a chocolate cheesecake, a shortbread cookie, and a mini bundt cake.

You will also be able to choose from a list of drinks, including complimentary beverages like soft drinks, coffee, tea, and more. Additionally, guests 21 and older are able to ask for the alcoholic beverage of the night, which may change based on when you attend. When Tatjana attended, she found the cocktail to be very strong and very sweet, with sugar sprinkled around the rim.
Throughout the night, your table will get a dedicated server, which was really nice! Tatjana shared that their server was delightful, and was always available if they needed anything. Once the show was over, she shared that they were also brought to-go cups to bring their tea out with them, which was a nice addition.
Is the World of Color Dessert Party Worth It?
So, is the World of Color Dessert Party worth the additional cost? That will likely depend on your and your party’s needs. World of Color – ONE is an incredibly popular show and seating for it is limited. With the World of Color Dessert Party, you are getting not only guaranteed seating but the best view possible.
You are also getting to sit while watching it, which is delightful when compared to standing for a long stretch of time while you stake out viewing for a nighttime spectacular. Additionally, you are getting unlimited desserts, drinks, and small snacks to enjoy throughout your time there, which would likely cost you a fair bit if bought individually at the park.
If you do choose to do the World of Color Dessert Party, you will definitely want to arrive with a bit of time before the show starts so that you can enjoy the food and drinks, and really get the most out of the party. After a long day in the parks, it can feel really nice to sit down and relax while you wait for the show to start.
Overall, while $89 can be a pricey addition to your ticket, if seeing World of Color – ONE is a must-do for you on your Disney California Adventure trip, the party can a worthwhile way to guarantee great seating and a fun experience.
