Tips for Making the Most of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival

by | Apr 28, 2023 | EPCOT, WDW Blog

We’re sharing our best tips for getting the most out of visiting the 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival.

Visiting the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival soon? With everything there is to offer, you might get overwhelmed with all there is to do in such a short period of time. That’s why we collected our top tips for making the most of your time when visiting the festival, which will be running through July 5th, 2023.

Avoid the Crowds

While avoiding the crowds might be easier said than done, you can actually avoid larger crowds if you follow this one tip: visit the festival during the week. Between locals and visitors, the weekends tend to be more crowded at the festival. That’s why selecting a day between Monday and Thursday will usually bring fewer crowds and more time to enjoy what you want. Keep in mind we can’t guarantee that there won’t be crowds during the week, but historically, the weekends are known to be more crowded.

Grab a Passport

Have you grabbed an updated passport? No, we don’t mean your government passport; we mean your EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Passport! This little booklet actually makes your time more efficient during the festival. The passport includes a list of the foods available during the festival, which you can mark off as you go, events scheduled, and even a list of topiaries you can discover throughout your visit to EPCOT. Passports are usually available at every entrance to the park as well as at each food booth and inside most shops.

Buy a Disney Gift Card Wristlet

Planning on trying lots of treats and drinks during the festival? Why not use a Disney Gift Card Wristlet. These wristlets are perfect for keeping track of how much money you spend during the festival and allow guests to avoid pulling out their credit card at every booth.

What are these wristlets? They are just festival themed gift cards that allow guests to load a designated amount of money onto the card and conveniently wear it on their wrist. It’s as simple as that! Think of the time you’ll save!

Have a Game Plan

While we all want some spontaneity in our Disney trip, having a game plan will definitely save some time. Whether you want to start your World Showcase journey in Canada or Mexico (the big EPCOT lover debate) or head over to the World Discovery section, having an idea of where you want to start and continue will help. We suggest starting to the left of Spaceship Earth, heading around near Test Track, around to the Odyssey Building (which is a must visit) and then heading into the World Showcase at the Mexico pavilion.

Bring the Festival Must-Haves With You

Reasons to Visit EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

If you are visiting the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, you probably know you’ll be doing some eating during the festival. Instead of having to stop to wash your hands or to get utensils, we recommend bringing these items with you.

If you can’t find a festival spork for sale at EPCOT, which is usually an easy place to find this item, you can also easily purchase one online. Having these items on-hand make grabbing and getting food so much easier. We also recommend bringing your own hand sanitizer with you. You’ll probably be touching lots of things during your visit so instead of having to find a bathroom every time you decide to eat, just use some hand sanitizer, 70% of course!

Don’t Stress

While we hope these tips help you make the most of your time at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, don’t stress! If you can’t get to do every single thing or you have to skip something due to crowds, don’t worry about it! You are on vacation in the Most Magical Place on Earth, so just enjoy your time! You can explore the countries, take fun photos and more during your visit!
