This month, we featured Brett Svenson as our photographer in the #MeetTheTeam section of #WDWMagazine. We asked Brett to pick 5 of his #photos that have been featured in the magazine over the past 19 issues and tell us a bit about what makes them special to him.
This is one of my favorite pictures of my son Trent! This was his first trip to Disney and just after his very first ride… Dumbo! Some people may think 10 months old may be too young for him to remember anything from Disney, and while that may be true, we certainly have the memories and the photos to share with him when he is older!
The balcony of Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavilion is one of my favorite spots to view (and photograph) Illuminations from. This particular night I put forth an extra effort to make it to this location in time to view it. I started at Magic Kingdom and watched Wishes, then ran to the EPCOT Monorail, all the way through the park and around World Showcase with just enough time left to snag this spot for the show!
This picture I particularly love because I just happened to stumble on this unique view while exploring by myself. During the Rock Your #DisneySide 24hr event in 2014 I had plenty of free time to wander, so I took the opportunity to walk around Tom Sawyer Island (a place most people never visit) which is where I ended up capturing one of my all-time favorite photos!
I love this picture because no matter how old you get, the #PixieDust on the ground as you’re leaving EPCOT can always make you smile… or maybe even dance around on it!
This is by far one of my favorite photos of Cinderella Castle at sunset! While walking through Fantasyland, I looked up and saw that the sun’s rays were beaming through the clouds. As fast as I could I ran around the castle to my favorite spot on the bridge and snapped away. Within 10 minutes it was gone. It just goes to show, you should always keep an eye out for special moments like that!
