Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia Have Begun at Disneyland Resort

Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia have officially kicked off at Disneyland Resort, available now through October 31st.

It’s officially the start of the spooky season at Disneyland Resort! Beginning today, September 1st, you can enjoy Halloween Time and Plaza de la Familia at Disneyland Resort. Available through October 31st, the season includes seasonal decor, new menu items, as well as the return of the fan-favorite Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay. Plus, this year, Mickey and friends will be donning new Halloween outfits. Let’s dive into a few things you can expect beginning today!

Halloween Time Begins at Disneyland Resort

Starting now through the end of October, you can enjoy Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort with new offerings at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and the Disneyland Hotels. We’re sharing a few of the key options that will be available at each of these locations! Halloween at Disneyland Park

Disneyland has transformed, with seasonal decor and characters dressed in their Halloween looks. You can now enjoy special photo opporutnities with characters in their Halloween costumes, as well as taking a picture in front of the giant Mickey Mouse Pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A. 

Over at Haunted Mansion Holiday, you can once again enjoy the annual overlay themed to The Nightmare Before Christmas. Each year the ride features a custom made gingerbread house, adn this year’s is described as a “merrily macabre mausoleum.”

When nighttiem falls, you can enjoy the Halloween Screams fireworks show, with projections, special effects and music. For those looking to get even more out of the season, you can do so with Disney’s Happiest Haunts Guided Tour. Learn more about that here.

Halloween at Disney California Adventure

Halloween decorations have also gone up at Disney California Adventure, where Cars Land has become Radiator Screams. This includes overlays such as Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. For the first time, Guido sports a new “car-stume” as well for guests to enjoy.

The other ride to get a Halloween overlay is Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, which transforms at night to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark.

La Plaza de Familia Begins at Disney California Adventure

In honor of the Mexican traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the vibrant Plaza de la Familia has returned to Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure. From now through November 2nd, you can enjoy a menu inspired by Mexican cuisine for a limited time. Throughout the day, you can also watch “A Musical Celebration of Coco, where a talented company of Folklórico dancers and Mariachi singers and musicians recount the tale of the movie.

Tributes to Día de los Muertos can also be found on display across Disneyland Resort. At Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you can see a new confectionery sculpture inspired the film, featuring Miguel and his dog Dante. At Cars Land in Disney California Adventure, Ramone displays an “ofrenda” celebrating the life of Doc Hudson. And, at Disneyland, you’ll find a traditional installation in Frontierland, with marigolds and banners of papel picado.
