The doors have finally opened! The highly-anticipated World of Frozen is now open at Hong Kong Disneyland, marking a major milestone by becoming the first-ever fully Frozen-themed land at a Disney Park. After hosting a special ceremony last week, World of Frozen is now open to all guests at Hong Kong Disneyland.
World of Frozen Now Open at Hong Kong Disneyland
Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, officiated the welcome ceremony. They were joined by Queen Anna and Elsa, who welcomed guests to the kingdom of Arendelle.
“I am thrilled to see how the kingdom of Arendelle in Frozen has come to real life. Visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland can now physically immerse themselves in scenes once only featured in animation,” said Chan. He added: “I am confident that the opening of the World of Frozen is a defining moment to elevate Hong Kong Disneyland to a whole new level, and to attract more tourists to embark on journeys to Hong Kong.”
This month, the Frozen franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary, as the first movie opened in 2013. The two films have gone on to become one of Disney’s most successful franchise in Disney’s 100-year history. World of Frozen is notable for being the first ever fully Frozen-themed land to open at a Disney Park. “World of Frozen is an incredibly thoughtful, uniquely Disney destination where storytelling, innovation, and creativity come together to create the ultimate immersive experience that celebrates a global phenomenon,” said D’Amaro.
“Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is the leader in immersive family entertainment and a source of pride for Hong Kong,” said Michael Moriarty, Managing Director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “We are thrilled by the tremendous response to World of Frozen and cannot wait for more guests from all around the world to explore this first-of-its-kind experience.”
The land is home to three attractions, with Frozen Ever After, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and the new interactive play experience at Playhouse in the Woods. All are now open at the new World of Frozen, currently only at Hong Kong Disneyland.
