What’s New at the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival? Here’s Everything You Can’t Miss

by | Mar 4, 2024 | Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland Parks, DLR Food

We’re sharing the biggest and most exciting updates to the annual Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival –– including details on the food, drinks, and experiences you don’t want to skip!

The Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is back for 2024! This year, the festival marketplaces welcomed guests (and their appetites) starting on March 1, and you’ll have until April 22 to check out all of the food, drinks, and entertainment offerings that celebrate the diverse cuisine of California. But what we’re most excited about is the whole host of new offerings at this year’s festival.

As someone who’s been to every iteration of the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival since 2006, I’m here to tell you that this year’s festival feels all-new –– and you don’t want to miss any of the offerings! Here’s a look at what’s new for 2024, and what you’ll want to make sure to experience before the Food & Wine Festival wraps.

Find Over 80 New Items at the Festival Marketplaces

Yep, you read that right: There are a whopping 80 new items you can try at the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! The menus at every festival marketplace feature a mix of new options, whether that’s some new wine and beer choices, delicious new eats, or a new specialty cocktail to try.

If you’re someone who’s been to the DCA Food & Wine Festival in years past, this year’s array of new additions will make the entire event feel brand new. While there are some returning favorites (like the Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese), you’ll find totally fresh menus across the festival marketplaces.

Whether you’re visiting the festival to try something fun and different, like a sweet peach cobbler cocktail or the classic watermelon and Tajin combo turned into a refreshing drink (you don’t want to skip the Watermelon Cucumber Mojito from Earth Eats!) or plant-based “meat” dishes like Impossible Chicken Parm Bites and Impossible Beef Stroganoff, you’re going to want to try to taste all 80 new additions!

The lineup of festival marketplaces has changed slightly for the 2024 festival. While a couple of prior years’ marketplaces have been retired, a new booth has been introduced: Earth Eats.

Earth Eats is a plant-forward festival marketplace, which means the menu is designed around plant-based items. Here, you’ll find some staple meat-based dishes –– Chicken Parm Bites and Beef Stroganoff –– that have gone plant-forward, swapping their meat for Impossible plant-based “meat.” And, having tried both of the dishes at Earth Eats, let me tell you: You won’t be able to tell you’re digging into Impossible meat! These were two of my absolute favorites of the festival.

Plus, the new Earth Eats booth is also home to a standout cocktail: the Watermelon Cucumber Mojito. Refreshing with a hint of spice and warmth, it’s like sipping on a fresh slice of watermelon topped with a healthy sprinkle of Tajin. Oh, and you’ll actually find a watermelon spear in your cup!

Choose From New Sip and Savor Pass Options

If there’s one must-get item that isn’t a delicious dish or drink, it’s the Sip and Savor Pass. The Sip and Savor Pass makes it a breeze to try a variety of different festival treats, from savory items to sweet desserts to nonalcoholic drinks. This year, the pass has been upgraded to eliminate the old bend-and-break tabs, which are replaced with a barcode that can be scanned at any festival marketplace register.

In addition to the new easy-to-scan pass, there’s also a new Sip and Savor Pass type available. You can opt for the original, which includes eight entitlements (or tasting portions), or the new version with four entitlements.

The new, smaller Sip and Savor Pass option with four entitlements costs $31 (the version with eight runs $64). You’ll find it available for purchase at various locations throughout California Adventure –– anywhere you find the full Sip and Savor Pass, the smaller alternative will also be sold!

Catch the New “Confection Purrfection with the Superkitties” Show

Head over to Hollywood Land in California Adventure, and you’ll catch one of the most exciting new additions to the Food & Wine Festival: the “Confection Purrfection with the Superkitties” show. If your little ones (or you!) are fans of the hugely popular Disney Junior animated series Superkitties, this is an absolute must-see.

“Confection Purrfection with the Superkitties” is an interactive show created just for kids ages 3 to 11 years old. During the two daily showtimes, the Superkitties will invite kids to join them in cooking up a birthday surprise for a furry friend –– and kids will have the chance to don chef hats and frost their very own cupcakes!

Just note that kids do need to be able to complete the cupcake decorating activity on their own (they’ll be supervised by Cast Members right by the stage), and you’ll want to sign your little ones up about 15 to 20 minutes before showtime to ensure they get the chance to get their hands on some cupcakes.

The highlight of the show, of course, is an appearance by the Superkitties onscreen. However, adults will love all of the kitty-themed puns (and there are plenty of them!) for a little laughter during the activity.

Of course, in addition to all of these new offerings found at the 2024 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, you also won’t want to skip returning favorites. From beer, wine, and mixology seminars and classes held Friday through Sunday each week to cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs to the return of Soarin’ Over California, all of the staples of festivals past are back –– and you’ll find they’re just as much fun as you remember!
