First, we would like to thank Disney for inviting us to this special media event and for providing admission to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party so we could bring you this sneak peek!
For the media event, I was joined by Brett Svenson, another one of our awesome photographers here at WDW Magazine. Together we learned all about some exciting new offerings that will be available exclusively at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year. We received a special media lanyard and some extra goodies – another big “thank you” to Disney! We also picked up an Information Guide, which will be your go-to for show times and party details. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party started August 18th and runs on select nights through October 31st. Ticket prices vary. Make sure to take advantage of your AP or DVC discount!

Even though it’s only August, I had my Halloween costume ready to go! Both children and adults can dress up in their Halloween best during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Just be sure to leave your masks and weapons (even fake ones) at home.

Spooky Merchandise
Ok, now that the basics are out of the way, let’s talk about all the exclusive offerings we previewed at the media event. First up: Merchandise! This year, there is a huge array of newly designed shirts and pins exclusively for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. There is also an exclusive Magic Band. What seems to be the most talked about, though, is the new Hocus Pocus merchandise! The “Amuck” Spirit Jersey has already set the internet ablaze and is a must for any Hocus Pocus fan. Check out these merchandise photos!

Sweet Treats
I hope you’re hungry because now it’s time to talk about food! As part of the media event, we watched a cupcake decorating demo featuring the new Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake. These cupcakes are HUGE and will satisfy any sweet tooth. Are you ready for this mouth-watering description? The Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake is a spiced apple cupcake topped with pecan praline, candy apple pieces, a buttercream “apple” dome, cinnamon roll glaze, and a licorice stem. YUM! Check out these photos from the demo along with other exciting new treats you can find at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Gunpowder Pete
Now it’s time to talk about some additional unique experiences coming to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year!
Be on the lookout for Gunpowder Pete on Pirates of the Caribbean! For the first time ever, guests can have an interactive experience with live pirates both in the queue and along the ride itself. Don’t worry, these pirates are not-so-scary so it will still be fun for the little ones!

Mad Tea Party
The new addition to Mad Tea Party is probably my favorite new offering at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! You’ll experience colorful lighting, fun effects, and new music perfect for the Halloween season. Don’t just take my word for it, see for yourself:

Deep Space Mountain
This is one experience that we unfortunately don’t have any photos or videos for, but there’s a reason for that! During Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you can experience Space Mountain IN TOTAL DARKNESS. You didn’t think Space Mountain could get any darker, did you? Well, it can! This new ride experience also features a new soundtrack.
Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam
Disney just can’t get enough of these dance parties! New to the scene this year is the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam, located back by the entrance to Pete’s Silly Sideshow. Kids of all ages can dance alongside their favorite Disney Junior characters!

Character Couture
The last experience we learned about at the media event is an experience that isn’t limited to the Halloween season, but it certainly fits right in! The Character Couture package is a character-inspired makeover experience for adults. Need some Tangled-inspired hair for your Rapunzel Disneybound? Or how about a full Vanellope Von Schweetz makeover to go with your Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party costume (like I wish I had done…)? While outfits and costumes are not included, this is still a great way to feel like a Disney Princess (or Prince) even if it’s not Halloween! To book your makeover, call 407-939-7727.
