Disney Travel Day Checklist

These are travel-day specific, so don’t forget to get these ready for the morning you leave!

  • Travel Bag: Don’t put your travel day stuff in your other bags, which could get buried or checked on the plane
  • Travel outfit: Pick your most comfy clothes for the car/plane ride
  • Neck pillow, blanket for optimal comfort
  • Headphones
  • Activities: Phone games, tablet, book, etc
  • Motion sickness or anxiety meds: Listed this separately from our toiletries section below because you’ll need these handy in your travel bag
  • Paperwork: Passports and the stuff listed directly below. You’ll want to be able to easily access these without digging through underwear in your suitcase
  • Travel Home Things: Talk about self-care. You’ll have a travel day HOME at the end of vacation. Sad, but true. Make sure you have fresh travel clothes and activities to ease the pain of leaving Disney.

Paperwork to Bring to Disney World

Disney World Packing List Paperwork

OK, so paper is kind of a thing of the past, but there are a few details you have to remember in order to let reality slip away in Fantasyland…

  • My Disney Experience App: This app can do everything from store your dinner reservations to open your Disney resort room door. Make sure you have it on all adult phones and that it is updated to the latest version.
  • Tickets: Pick your most comfy clothes for the car/plane ride
  • Luggage tags
  • Travel Agent Contact: Our friends at Destinations to Travel not only plan vacations… they help out whenever you have an issue WHILE on vacation.
  • Itinerary: Maybe most of this is on your My Disney Experience App, but you’ll still need arrival times if you’ve got flights to catch or activities outside of WDW
  • Crowd Calendar: Day-to-day reminders of park events and crowd levels
  • Confirmation numbers: Get confirmation numbers for everything! Dig around in your email and make sure you have all the numbers for reservations.
  • Passport or State ID: Make it easy to prove who you are just in case
  • Debit Card and Emergency Credit Card: Sometimes banks can put a hold on your debit card if they think out-of-state activity looks suspicious. Call your bank ahead of time to let them know you’re traveling, and bring an emergency credit card with you just in case
  • The credit card you booked with: If not staying at a Disney resort, this could be VERY important for the offsite hotel reservation you made months ago

Extra Magic Disney World Packing List

Magical Extras What to Bring to Disney World

  • Autograph book and large pen: For health and safety at the is time, characters are not currently holding traditional meet-and-greets or signing autographs.
  • Matching shirts: Lots of families make their own matching shirts or custom order via an Etsy shop. It’s a fun way to commemorate a special day on the trip, or just have all the same color shirts to find each other in the crowd!
  • Glowsticks: Buy a tube of a bunch of glowstick bracelets or light-up toys to avoid temptation when the glowing vendor carts come out at night at the parks
  • Bubble wand: Buy an Ariel bubble wand on Amazon or eBay ahead of time, because these are sure to catch the eye of little ones at the parks
  • Spray fan: If you’re going during a hot time of year, pack one of these to avoid buying one!
  • Souvenir surprises: Just like buying glow and bubble toys ahead of time, consider getting plush or toys to pack and have them “appear” in the room (be the last one out of the room and put them on the bed to await your return) for a surprise without the souvenir shop price tag!
  • Stamps: Did you know you can send mail at any Disney park or your resort? That’s right, you can send a special postcard to the gang back home
