- Served with smoked gouda mashed potatoes
Laurie Sapp, Photographer: “The beer-braised beef with smoked gouda mashed potatoes was excellent. I enjoy anything with gouda, so this was right up my alley. The potatoes were warm and smooth, and the beef tender and full of flavor. This was a good value for the money and a favorite that will be on my list for my next visit. “

- Black Beans with crispy pork belly, Brazil nut pesto, and Ben’s Original Long Grain White Rice
Lex Mancini, Writer: “So flavorful! This is one of my favorite things at the fest. The sauce on top is amazing, and the pork belly is tender and moist; my only complaint is the pork belly could have been crispier, but it didn’t make a difference to me because it’s so delicious!”

3. Griddled Cheese – Greece Booth – $4.75

- Served with pistachios and honey
Rain Blanken, Editorial Director: “The griddled cheese was one of the first things we ate at the festival, and we couldn’t stop talking about it all day. The honey glaze was warm on top of the crispy griddled side of this cheese slab. The cheese itself was salty and sweet. Get a knife to cut it, and be sure to gather pistachios in each bite for some texture. It’s also part of Emile’s Fromage Montage, so come get your cheese on.”

4. Rocky Road Chocolate Cake – Flavors From Fire Booth – $4.25

- With marshmallows, spiced almonds, and chocolate ganache
Evelyn Long, Writer: “Gooey chocolate cake reminiscent of lava cake and plush marshmallows made it a crowd pleaser, while the spiced almonds brought a tickle of heat to the back of my throat. The spice tied the dish into the booth’s theme and made it more than just a chocolate cake! I’d appreciate another flavor element like graham cracker or caramel – but the low price tag put it over the top for me.”

Tatjana Lazar, Communications Director: “Melt in your mouth filet mignon; really easy to cut; nice gravy on it; good mushrooms – a taste of Le Cellier even if you can’t get in (or don’t have an ADR). Portion is fair for the price! Especially if you consider Le Cellier prices! This is really a festival staple everyone needs to try at least once.”

8. Spicy Salmon Donburi – Japan Booth – $7.50

- Spicy salmon with sushi rice, shiso leaf, red tobiko, and rice pearls
Rain Blanken, Editorial Director: “So spicy! If you love a bit of spice, this little poke bowl is a must-eat at the fest! Some spicy salmon concoctions elsewhere aren’t quite spicy enough, but this dish had a zing I just wasn’t ready for! The rice was just the right amount of vinegary goodness, and there were lots of chunks of salmon. It’s a meal for one, but might just fill you up!”

All varieties were salty but the flavors from each were distinct. The malt vinegar was exactly what you’d expect, the BBQ was like fancy barbeque chips and the sweet potato fries were like dessert with the marshmallow cream! A winner for the kiddos too.”

Best Drinks at 2022 EPCOT Food and Wine
Alright, alright—enough about the food. For those who come to EPCOT each year to drink around the world, this part is for you. Working to bring Disney news to our subscribers isn’t always a walk in the park(s), but grinding to find the best boozy bevvies at the Food and Wine Festival is a job we look forward to each year. Our many hours of sipping have added up to a list of favorites that we will be ordering again and again!
1. Blood Orange Charm Margarita – Mexico Booth – $12.50

- Centinela Blanco Tequila, blood orange aperitif, blackcurrant-infused vodka, and prosecco served on the rocks with pink peppercorns and sweet-dried-chile salt rim
Lex Mancini, Writer: “The sweet dried chili salt rim is the perfect preface to the drink. It balances it out perfectly and adds a little smoke. The fruity blood orange aperitif and black currant infused vodka give the drink a naturally sweet flavor without being syrupy it has a good amount of tartness from the citrus. This drink is so well balanced with the nearly disguised Prosecco that also gives a bit of a dry element. “

- Guinness & Bailey’s coffee shake topped with chocolate curls
Evelyn Long, Writer: “This shake had the perfect creaminess and foaminess that I look for in a milkshake. The Baileys and Guinness can be found on your palate but didn’t leave that not-so-fun bite in your mouth that one often experiences with Irish Coffees. 10/10 would order again!”

- Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co. Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale (New): “Are you ready for fall yet? I was transported back to last October as soon as this ale hit my lips. The pumpkin flavor is strong; a perfect brew for the America Pavilion.”
- Lord Hobo Brewing Boom Sauce DIPA: “Now, this is one hearty double IPA! If you love hoppy flavor, then be prepared to get punched in the face with it on the first sip. It’s bitter, strong, and the perfect companion to the pumpkin and strawberry ales. If you’ve never tried a DIPA before, this is a good primer.”
