The moment we have all been (not so patiently) waiting for has finally arrived: Our home away from home has started to open its majestic doors! Let’s find out what’s open at Disney World!
If you are like me and any of my extended family, you are already starting to plan your next trip, and I don’t blame you at all.
In fact, let’s not wait another minute. Let’s get our DisneyBound outfits ready and let’s go!
Even though the parks themselves are not officially reopening their doors to the public until July 11, the list of Disney experiences that are currently available is vast. Keep scrolling to see what is currently available to you.
What is Open at Disney World?
Lodging … almost
If you are in desperate need of feeling the complete Disney World hospitality experience, then you will be happy to note that certain Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts (and some DVC properties) will be available as of June 22, as well as Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
These include Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Saratoga Springs, and many more. But stays will be limited to those with reservations for the time being.
If you are staying at one of these resorts, you will have access to various amenities depending on where you are staying. For the most part, leisure pools will be open and operating with reduced capacity, and some fitness centers and courts may be open depending on Florida state and county regulations.
Here is what we know right now about cleaning and safety procedures at Disney resorts.
If you are a pin collector, have no fear! Pin trading will still be available to you at some destinations!
While you may not be able to exchange directly with Cast Members, you will have access to pinboards depending on your location.
Sports fans! Did you know that most of the golf courses on the Walt Disney World premises are open?
Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course and Magnolia Golf Course are both currently open to the public and are offering deals through the Walt Disney World Golf website. Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course will open on June 19 after regular maintenance, while Disney’s Palm Golf Course will resume operations after regular maintenance on July 3.
Be sure to have an Arnold Palmer (half iced tea, half lemonade) at the turn while admiring his various Disney course creations!
Footgolf and Mini Golf
For a more family-focused sporting outing, FootGolf and miniature golf options opened on June 15th.
Both the Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and the Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf courses are open for reservations by calling 407-WDW-PLAY, and walk-ups are also still available.
Disney’s Oak Trail FootGolf course is another challenging option to regular golf where foot wedges are the only clubs you can use (and not be cheating!). Established in 2018, this activity is a lesser-known Disney gem. Learn more about this fun experience.
To appease your food and shopping fixes, Disney Springs is currently in its phased reopening stages, and they have a ton to offer.
From dine-in options to patio seating to take out, most dining establishments are already welcoming guests. I can already hear Raglan Road, Paradiso 37, and Sprinkles calling my name.
Don’t be alarmed that there will be some health and safety guidelines in place, which you can read about here. I have watched some videos, and apparently Storm Troopers have been known to help encourage social distancing and to make the experience more entertaining and light-hearted.
Before you go dining, be sure to work up your appetite by walking through the stores that have opened their doors. From Vera Bradley to Coach, you should be able to find something that fits your style.
You can find a list of all Disney Springs’ offerings here.
If these options still aren’t enough to satisfy your needs, and trust me that more and more things are opening up every day, just remember that there are just over three weeks remaining until all of the Walt Disney World Parks open on July 11. Start your countdowns now, and I look forward to seeing you real soon!
