Disney Munchlings turn beloved characters into sweet treats of all shapes, styles, and sizes.

Have you spotted plushies that look like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Baymax, Winnie the Pooh, and even the beloved Orange Bird, but with a food twist? These deliciously cute versions of Disney characters can be found throughout stores at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, as well as across shopDisney, and they’re one of the hottest collectibles around: Disney Munchlings!

Disney Munchlings have been around for a while now, but they’re still relatively new for many Disney fans. Below, we’re sharing the story behind Disney Munchlings, plus a look at the different Munchlings collections.

What Are Disney Munchlings?

Disney Munchlings are really as simple as they seem: They’re Disney characters turned into tasty treats! The faces of characters from the Fab 5 to Pixar favorites (like Mike and Sully from Monster’s Inc. or Joy and Sadness from Inside Out) are reimagined into delicious sweets, from ice cream bars and classic candies to muffins and cupcakes to cups of hot chocolate and lattes. In every form, Munchlings are totally irresistible, just like the treats they represent.

Oh, and there’s another hidden surprise. These plush toys don’t just look good enough to eat. They’re also scented, so each Munchling smells deliciously like the treat they’re styled after. That means a Mickey Mouse cinnamon roll will smell just like the fresh-baked version!

Of course, Disney Munchlings also have an adorable – and magical – backstory, too. According to Disney Parks Blog, they got their start in the Main Street Bakery, where Master Baker Pierre Dumonet accidentally spilled some of that Disney magic onto his fresh-baked treats. 

While Disney Munchlings first began with three collections – Sweet Treats, Baked Treats, and Frozen Treats – the selection has expanded to include so many more Disney characters and plenty of different types of treats.

The Munchlings line may have started with a small selection of characters, but it’s now quite expansive. While there are always classic characters like Mickey and Minnie to choose from, there are also plenty of other options, too. And with each new collection, there are brand-new sweet treats and fresh new characters.

Here’s a look at some of the Disney Munchlings collections that have been released since the plush line first launched in 2022:

You’ll also catch limited releases, which include seasonal or special edition plushes like the Jack Skellington Cinnamon Cupcake or the Figment Fruity Fig Bar released for the 2023 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. 

Additionally, while Disney Munchlings first began with individual plush figures in sizes from Micro (approximately 4 inches tall) to Medium (about 15 to 17 inches tall), the collections now include so many more Munchlings items. Mystery packs, which include anywhere from a single Muchlings to a set of small or micro-sized plushes, give fans a surprise inside each box. You’ll even find Munchlings-inspired ear headbands, magnets, keychains, pens, and jewelry throughout the theme parks. 

So, if you’ve got a sweet tooth (or even a love of savory foods –  like a good breakfast bagel!), the Disney Munchlings collections can satisfy your love of all things delicious and adorable. Plus, who knows what new characters and new treats will come next?
