A Walt Disney World dessert party is a great way to score a prime viewing spot for the fireworks shows, enjoy some after-dinner treats, or even celebrate a special occasion.

What does a dessert party at Walt Disney World entail? We’re sharing all of the details below.

Table of Contents

What is a Walt Disney World Dessert Party?

A dessert party at Walt Disney World is a cool way to enhance your evening. Held at the same time as nighttime entertainment offerings like fireworks shows and parades, these parties are events during which you can enjoy a collection of delicious dessert treats while you watch the skies above your favorite Disney theme park light up.

Typically offered at the theme parks, dessert parties are exclusive events that aren’t open to all Guests. While any Guest can book a dessert party reservation, each party is limited to a set number of people to keep the experience smaller and more intimate. You and your friends or family will enjoy a prime viewing spot, a place to sit and rest your feet, and plenty of delicious desserts.

You can think of a Walt Disney World dessert party as the perfect combination of reserved seating for nighttime spectaculars and a special dessert-only dining reservation!

What’s Included in a Walt Disney World Dessert Party?

When you book a dessert party reservation at one of Walt Disney World’s theme parks or resorts, each one is slightly different in what’s offered. However, regardless of whether you’re enjoying a fireworks dessert party or a seasonal (and spooky!) Halloween dessert party, you can expect your booking to include:

  • A selection of refreshments, both food and beverages
  • Reserved seating with a view

The refreshments available at these dessert parties definitely include a selection of sweets, but there are often also savory snacks available too. Beverages will vary, but they can include both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options for every palate.

Typically, if you’re attending a fireworks dessert party at Disney World, you can expect your reserved seating to feature a great view of the show. Similarly, if you’re attending a dessert party for a parade at a theme park, you can trust that you’ll get a clear view of the parade route.

How Much Does a Dessert Party Cost at Walt Disney World?

The cost of each dessert party varies, depending on factors like the theme park, the location, what’s included, and the date of your booking.

You can expect the cost of a Disney World dessert party to be around the following prices:

  • $114 per adult
  • $69 per child

Current Dessert Party Options

Here’s a look at the dessert parties currently available for booking at Walt Disney World Resort.

Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle

If you’re looking for an elevated Disney experience, this is it! Celebration at the Top is a special dessert party that’s held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, right within view of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks display. It’s a truly special experience from start to finish, complete with delicious food and stunning views.

During this dessert party, you’ll get to experience an incredible view of the fireworks from an intimate, private observation deck on the 15th floor of the Contemporary. It’s more elevated than a theme park event, with cocktail party vibes. You’ll snack on food from the California Grill (like sushi and small bites) and enjoy an array of desserts. Plus, Guests age 21 and older can order complimentary wine, beers, and cordials.

When the fireworks begin at Magic Kingdom, you’ll be able to take in the whole show with a stunning view from above. After the show wraps up, you can take your time wrapping up your evening with a few more desserts, some cordials, and coffee.

The Celebration at the Top dessert party costs $129 per person (plus tax and gratuity).

Why not catch the fireworks and have some sweet treats while cruising the Seven Seas Lagoon? The Ferrytale Fireworks dessert party is a cruise and a unique fireworks watching experience rolled into one – and it’s especially wonderful for those who want an unforgettable Disney evening.

With a Ferrytale Fireworks booking, you’ll be able to sail around the Seven Seas Lagoon in the evening aboard a ferry boat while enjoying a spread of cheese and desserts. You’ll sip specialty drinks (all themed for the evening!), and Guests aged 21 and up can enjoy alcoholic beverages too. Kids aboard the ferry can join in on a special scavenger hunt.

And when the fireworks begin at the Magic Kingdom, you’ll be able to watch the show right from your lagoon-based vantage point. It’s a grand finale to your Disney theme park day you’ll never forget.

A Ferrytale Fireworks dessert party costs $130 per adult and $100 per child, age 3 to 9 years old (tax and gratuity are included).

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party

If you’re looking for a classic, the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties are it. It’s an extra reservation-only event that combines special reserved seating for the Magic Kingdom”s current nighttime spectacular (which, for summer 2023, is Happily Ever After) with a tasty spread of snacks.

The desserts themselves await Guests at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, with a selection that includes delights like chocolate-dipped strawberries and chocolate silk tarts. For savory fans, there’s also a variety of cheese to try. And Guests will find a range of refreshing drinks to try, including beer and wine options for those of legal drinking age.

You can choose between the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party (which takes place during the fireworks show itself), a pre-party (which takes place right before the fireworks), and a post-party (which takes place after the fireworks have concluded). The great thing about each of these Disney World dessert parties? All three give you a prime viewing area for the show!

Prices for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties start at $99 per person for adults and $59 per person for children age 3 to 9 years old (tax included, gratuities optional).

Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Seats & Sweets

While most of the Walt Disney World dessert parties that take place inside Magic Kingdom involve a special viewing area separate from Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, there is another option. The Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Seats & Sweets event secures you a seat for the fireworks right on the patio of Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, featuring the same desserts, cheese options, and beverage options as the other party choices.

The cost of this alternative dessert party option is $114 per adult and $69 per child (tax included, gratuity not included).

Special Event and Seasonal Dessert Parties

Throughout the year, Walt Disney World theme parks will offer special dessert parties during ticketed events – and they often have a seasonal theme! If you’re heading to the resort during any exciting seasons like fall or the winter holidays, you can book one of the following parties, if reservations are available.

How to Book a Dessert Party at Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Booking a reservation for one of the above dessert parties is easy! You can do so right on the Walt Disney World website, where you’ll find all of the available dessert party offerings.

To book, you’ll want to make a dining reservation. All dessert parties are found alongside restaurant dining reservations, so search either by the term “dessert party” or by park (most fireworks dessert parties take place at Magic Kingdom!). You’ll be able to find both special event options and regular dessert parties here.

From there, it’s as easy as making a regular dining reservation! Just remember that these bookings do come with an added cost. If you need to cancel your reservation, check the fine print on your reservation so you know how much time you have to do so.
