VIDEO: CINDERELLA CASTLE SHINES WITH HOLIDAY PROJECTIONS

This year, Cinderella Castle flaunts a festive makeover! Take a look at these four festive holiday projections that clad Cinderella Castle!

Even in the midst of the current pandemic, Walt Disney World is making this holiday season merry and bright.

As the centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom’s annual Christmas decorations, Cinderella Castle is typically adorned in shimmering, icicle-like strands of lights at this time of year.

In light of the current crowd-reduction guidelines, though, the palace is forgoing the usual Cinderella Castle Dream Lights and instead is flaunting a new look—four new looks, in fact!

An array of dazzling projections now blanket Cinderella’s Castle, seamlessly transitioning between wraps every 15 minutes in a trail of golden fairy dust. It’s a magical look for the iconic attraction.

Here’s a look at the four displays projected onto Cinderella Castle you can see this month.

KNITTED SWEATER DESIGN

The most festive of the 2020 Christmas projections, this design is covered in holiday iconography like evergreen trees and snowflakes.

What’s particularly attractive about this one is the art style. The patterns resemble the knitted yarn of a vintage Christmas sweater, complete with zig-zag hemlines.

This charming patchwork pattern is a favorite among parkgoers. It’s intricate artistry gives the castle a look that makes you feel warm and cozy inside.

WRAPPING PAPER DESIGN

This is my favorite of the four projections. The array of polka dots, stripes, and crisscross diamonds make like Cinderella Castle appear like it’s been enveloped in colorful wrapping paper!

If you look closely as you’re marveling at these displays, you’ll notice that the front balcony décor changes on each one. In this design, you’ll see a bright green Christmas tree overlooking the plaza.

WINTER BLUE DESIGN

Whereas the other projections are mostly static, this display shimmers and sparkles.

Colorful bulbs rhythmically brighten and dim, and the walls fluctuate between deep blue and vivid periwinkle. The iridescent glow of this projection has an elegant aura as it punctuates the night sky.

The colors that are projected on the surrounding trees also changes with every projection. For this display, they exhibit a delightful blueberry hue.

TRADITIONAL RED & GREEN DESIGN

Although this projection is quite simple in comparison to the intricacy of the other projections, this display of bold red and green hues really emphasizes the grandeur of Cinderella Castle

The forest green spires, opulent gold accents, and oversized banners make Cinderella Castle look like a painting from the pages of a holiday storybook.

You can practically imagine the troop of wooden soldiers marching through the gate!

If you’re a fan of the projection shows that typically adorn Cinderella Castle throughout the year, you’re going to love these special holiday patterns!

The designers did a marvelous job making each projection wrap seamlessly around the structure’s various shapes.

The designs practically look like they’ve been painted onto the castle’s walls. It’s truly a magical sight to behold!

Whether you enjoy these holiday displays in person at the Magic Kingdom or at home by watching these videos, you’re sure to feel the magic of Christmas stir in your spirit!
