You can experience two new live shows on the Disney Wish when it sets sail next summer: “Disney The Little Mermaid” and “Disney Seas the Adventure” (with Goofy!).
The Disney Wish is the fifth and newest cruise ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet of ships. Its maiden voyage is on the horizon: June 9, 2022.
As we get closer to the maiden voyage date, Disney keeps dropping (anchor?) a bunch of details on what makes the Disney Wish so special. And the latest? Two new Broadway-style stage shows on the Disney Wish that have never been seen on any other Disney Cruise ship.
Both shows will be performed at the state-of-the-art Walt Disney Theatre on the Wish.
Disney Wish Live Shows
At the Destination D23 event today, Disney announced two new live shows aboard the Disney Wish:
Disney The Little Mermaid
Disney The Little Mermaid will reimagine the classic tale of The Little Mermaid, but Disney promises a “modern and innovative take on a young woman learning the power of her voice.” Expect amazing special effects, beautiful songs, impressive choreography, amazing costuming, and more.

Disney calls this a “modern-day retelling” that starts with storytellers uncovering an enchanted treasure chest. When they unlock the magical chest, the storytellers assume the roles of all our favorite characters from The Little Mermaid: Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, Ursula, and more.
Your favorite songs from the Disney animated classic, including “Part of Your World,” “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” and “Under the Sea,” will return for the staged adaptation with new arrangements guaranteed to excite.
The entirety of the Walt Disney Theatre will transform into an underwater environment thanks to Disney’s stunning projection technology while puppetry brings to life some of our favorite aquatic characters, including Sebastian, Flounder, Scuttle, and Flotsam and Jetsam.
Disney Seas the Adventure

Disney Seas the Adventure stars our pal Goofy and is held on the embarkation night of every Disney Wish cruise. Captain Minnie and your favorite Disney and Pixar characters join the cast as they all help Goofy find his inner captain.
Some of the characters to look out for:
- Princess Tiana (including her song “Almost There”)
- Crush and Squirt (including the song “Go with the Flow” from Finding Nemo – The Musical, soon to be reimagined as Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… And Beyond!”)
- Elsa, Moana, and Merida (all performing a medley of “Let It Go,” “How Far I’ll Go,” and “Touch the Sky”)
- Hercules (including his song “Go the Distance”)
Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular
Already announced ahead of Destination D23, a reinterpretation of the Aladdin Broadway musical will also be a part of the lineup of live shows on the Disney Wish. This show is a fan favorite across the fleet of Disney Cruise vessels.
Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party
Also on Pirate Night of your Disney Wish voyage, you’ll get to enjoy a “new take on the fleet’s signature nighttime deck celebration,” called Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party.

The new Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Wish seats 1,274 guests. Disney describes the theatre as an “enchanted forest” with inspiration from Fantasia. Orchestra and balcony seating will span three decks.
A cruise-first is the Wish’s Dolby Atmos 3D audio system.
