I Just Ate the Best Burger in Disney World (and I’m Spilling the Secret Spot to Find It)

by | Jun 12, 2024 | Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Walt Disney World Food

If you’re searching for an incredible burger, you’re going to want to head to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The new Tiffins Burger is the best new burger at Walt Disney World.

Sure, sure, you’ve heard it before: “this is the best new burger at Disney!” And, granted. Disney does dish up a mean burger. Sci-Fi Dine-In has a beyond-the-pale traditional burger (served against an amazing backdrop of B-movie trailers, which, truth be told, are every bit as delicious as that burger, albeit not when we dip the accompanying fries in our chocolate shake…). People rave about Steakhouse 71’s lemon-aioli-topped burger, sure. The sun-dried tomato jam burger at Three Bridges is stuff of legend. Geyser Point is the place I drag all my friends, rain or shine (and yes, I’ve dragged them there during a torrential Florida thunderstorm because, well, that marionberry sauce… talk to me, Goose!).

We get it; the list of best burgers at Disney is well-documented (and, yes, we documented them in a list.)

But hold onto your waffle fries, because the new Tiffins burger is far and away the quintessential Disney burger.

This is the burger Walt himself would have hand-patted. Ariel would have signed away her voice not for Prince Eric, but for the new Tiffins burger. This burger would have talked Simba out of being king, Belle out of her books, Dory out of Nemo (that’s a nice name!).

In case you can’t tell, I was not prepared for how good it was, and, folks, I eat a lot of beef, and I eat a lot of it at Walt Disney World. But my friend had a chance to taste it at a burger preview (and raved about the conservation-minded Gainesville brewery, First Magnitude, with which Disney paired the burger at the previews) and loved it. She loved it so much that she asked the chef if they’d have a gluten-free version for celiacs like me, and when he said yes, she told me we had to go get it.

What’s in the Best Burger at Walt Disney World?

In Animal Kingdom, Tiffins started serving the Tiffins Signature Burger to special guests in early May, and to the rest of us mid-May. It’s a blend of beef and pork, topped with aged cheddar and a demi-glace. The burger comes served between a Parker House roll, although our server — shout out Antonio — found a gluten-free bun for one of us.

The demi-glace and the melted cheddar (don’t expect a slice of Kraft here; IDK what they do to the cheese but it felt like a gentle umami-meets-dairy “hello” when I tasted it) are all you need on this burger; no lettuce, tomato, or onion, but — and I cannot stress this enough — this is not what you find at Denny’s on your way home from Disney. If the burger you get at Sci-Fi is Pluto, Tiffins Signature Burger is Mickey… at his Very Merry Christmas Party, with all the snacks. Yes, it’s that good.

Tiffins Burger for Celiacs and Gluten-Free

I have celiac, so I was concerned I couldn’t get all the burger-y goodness. Turns out the only change they have to make is the bun, which means no mandala-stamped Parker House role for the gluten intolerant, but honestly? I would have eaten this burger wrapped in a flaccid piece of iceberg lettuce, because the only thing that matters is the burger, the cheese magic on top, and the demi-glace.

We ordered two of the new signature Tiffins burger: One traditional; one with a gluten-free bun. And neither disappointed. Yes, the burger cost $28 (before DVC or AP discounts) and yes, I’d do it again.

There’s not a lot else to say about this exquisite burger, except to say that it’s really so much more than a burger. Much like Rise of the Resistance, other people can tell you how it will blow your mind and it’s worth the money/the wait/whatever, but you won’t really understand how much that’s true until you experience it.

It’s an explosion of taste on your tongue, and, although it’s exquisite, it’s not that easy to tell why. The flavors blend together in the most subtle of ways, making it easily the best burger at Disney — but not for any immediately obvious reason.

Maybe it’s that Disney magic.
