New Orleans Square is about to welcome its first princess – and her very own restaurant – later this year.
It’s been a big year for The Princess and the Frog! Back in September 2022, we learned that Tiana and her cast of fellow bayou characters would step into Splash Mountain, turning the classic attraction into the all-new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in 2024. And last year also saw the opening of the very first Tiana-themed shop, Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, in New Orleans Square. Now, there’s even bigger news: A new restaurant centered around Tiana’s adventures is coming!
Disney has revealed that the French Market Restaurant in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square will be reimagined into Tiana’s Palace in 2023.

Tiana had big dreams of opening her very own restaurant in The Princess and the Frog, and they’re coming true right at Disneyland Resort! When the beloved princess takes over the French Market Restaurant, it’ll become the newest spot to dine on Orleans Street.
What can you expect from this delicious addition? Disney hints that inside, you’ll find peach-colored walls, fancy green wrought-iron balconies, and elegant fixtures and appointments that are all reminiscent of Tiana’s story. Expect those classic Disney touches throughout the restaurant (and likely some subtle or hidden character details, too!) so you feel like you’ve stepped right into Tiana’s restaurant as you saw it onscreen.
And when it comes to the food and flavors, Tiana’s Palace is sure to impress! The dishes offered will all feature authentic New Orleans flavors inspired by Tiana’s friends and adventures. On the menu, you’ll find both current favorites (fingers crossed that the flavorful Jambalaya and classic Shrimp Po’Boy stick around!) and new options. The food will include New Orleans classics and take advantage of seasonal flavors. This quick-service style restaurant is sure to remain a great place to grab a bite on your way towards Critter Country or Adventureland.
Note: Tiana’s Palace unfortunately won’t offer any opportunities to meet Tiana and her friends, as it won’t be a character dining location. However, you’ll still be able to catch the princess herself throughout New Orleans Square!
The French Market Restaurant Will Close on February 17, 2023
In order to prepare the current French Market Restaurant for its transformation into Tiana’s Palace, the location will shutter for a short time. Disney Imagineers will get to work quickly to bring The Princess and the Frog to life – the French Market Restaurant will close on February 17. The nearby Mint Julep Bar will also close on that same date.
Later in 2023, you’ll be able to step inside the revamped restaurant and experience Tiana’s Palace! Oh, and the Mint Julep Bar will return, too, serving up its famous mint juleps and Mickey beignets in just a matter of months.
