Learn more about the exciting new Disney Vacation Club tower at Disneyland Resort’s Disneyland Hotel and take a peek inside.

On September 28, 2023, a big change came to the Disneyland Hotel: a brand-new tower filled with villa-style rooms and touches of Disney’s animation magic. This new tower, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, is themed around celebrating creativity, magic, and some of the most beloved Walt Disney Animation Studios stories. And of course, you’ll be able to stay in incredible rooms that are just steps away from the magic inside Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

The opening of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel within Disneyland Resort mark the 16th property within the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) portfolio. It’s also now the fourth – and newest! – tower at the Disneyland Hotel itself, giving Guests even more options and room types to choose from for future vacations.

Learn more about what makes The Villas at Disneyland Hotel so special, and what you can expect when you stay at this DVC property.

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel Blend Old and New Together

If you’ve ever stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, you know how magical the resort already is. With three towers onsite that date back decades, the addition of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel expands the resort significantly, and it provides exciting new amenities that work seamlessly with the classic magic that Guests already know and love about Disneyland’s original hotel.

For example, each of the three towers at the Disneyland Hotel has its own name and interior theming: Fantasy, Adventure, and Frontier. With the addition of The Villas, the new fourth tower continues this tradition with a name of its own: Discovery.

Plus, while The Villas at Disneyland Hotel do have their own amenities, like a separate pool and bar, this new DVC destination intermingles with the rest of the Disneyland Hotel. Guests staying at The Villas will be able to enjoy the popular monorail-themed Disneyland Hotel pool, enjoy restaurants onsite, and explore all of the magic across the hotel grounds – and vice versa, for those who are staying at the Disneyland Hotel, but not in The Villas.

Disney Characters Come to Life at The Villas

So, what’s inside the stunning new Discovery tower? The Villas at Disneyland Hotel feature 344 themed rooms and 12 stories, and all of the details throughout the tower celebrate Walt Disney Animation Studios.

According to Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Vacation Club, “The Villas at Disneyland Hotel celebrates the remarkable legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ storytelling and the creative process these talented artists go through to bring Disney characters to life from sketch to screen.”

That storytelling legacy is noticeable when you step inside the lobby – you’ll be welcomed by an incredible mural created by Disney Animation artist Lorelay Bové, who’s worked on classics like The Princess and the Frog and Encanto. The mural is dotted with Disney characters, scenes, and stories (and you’ll want to keep an eye out for a sneak peek of Wish, the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios film!).

Beyond the lobby, you’ll find countless artistic touches woven into every space within The Villas, including in guestrooms. The rooms are designed to be immersive, bringing Guests into the stories they love from Sleeping Beauty to Fantasia to The Princess and the Frog

And for those who are looking for a resort that offers plenty of room for families in addition to those magical Disney touches that are hallmarks of any Disneyland vacation, Diercksen notes that, “With imaginative details and spacious accommodations, this beautiful new tower is the perfect place for families to create magical vacation memories for years to come.”

Going Beyond Hotel Rooms

In addition to the beautifully designed and cozy, homelike room choices at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, you’ll also find some standout new amenities to enjoy. One of the most exciting is the brand-new Palette Pool area.

The Palette Pool and its surrounding area is more than just thoughtfully and beautifully designed to mimic the rainbow hues of an animation artist’s palette. There’s plenty of shaded and unshaded space to lounge, a full pool to enjoy, and a whimsical “Steamboat Willie” splash pad inspired by the cartoon that introduced the world to Mickey Mouse.

Once you’ve experienced the Palette Pool area, you can head over to the Palm Breeze Bar. This is the one detail of The Villas that isn’t open just yet, but it’s expected to open later in 2023. Once it’s ready to welcome Guests, the Palm Breeze Bar will offer a delicious array of poolside drinks and snacks.
