The Sunshine Flyer is a new, 1920s railway-themed motorcoach service connecting the Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Walt Disney World Resort.

We were invited aboard the Sunshine Flyer to check out everything this new service has to offer. From check-in to final drop-off, we’ve compiled our entire ride experience!

Drawing its inspiration from railway travel, the Sunshine Flyer’s designs are unique, guaranteeing that no two buses are alike

The Sunshine Flyer services all of the Walt Disney World Resorts, including the Swan and Dolphin. We found the buses very comfortable and spacious. They feature:

  • Personal AC/reading lights
  • Onboard bathroom
  • Shoulder seatbelts
  • TV screens
  • Ample overhead and undercarriage storage

Riding the Sunshine Flyer could not be an easier or more stress-free experience! You purchased your ticket ahead of time, so now all you have to do is head to Terminal B in MCO to board your bus! You’ll find a check-in desk where you will be directed to the appropriate Flyer.

When it’s time to head back to MCO, head to the porte-cochère at your Disney Resort (where you were dropped off), and you’ll find your railway-themed motorcoach waiting for you!

Make sure you have the email with your ticket confirmation and QR code ready to show the attendants.

What’s the Ride Like?

Once we boarded the Sunshine Flyer, we began making our way towards Walt Disney World Resort. To my surprise and delight, our driver took the paid toll roads to WDW ensuring that our ride would be as quick and easy as possible!

As the driver loaded the luggage below, those of us onboard were treated to a video presentation featuring trivia about trains and resorts.

Kids aboard our Flyer were not only thrilled by the on-bus entertainment, but also because they received Sunshine Flyer stickers from our very kind driver before boarding.

The ride took about 22 minutes, but I was too wrapped up in the video to notice any time had passed!

Once we arrived on Disney Property, the Sunshine Flyer made stops at three other Resorts before dropping us off at the Grand Floridian

The return trip back to MCO was just as easy, as again our driver utilized the paid toll roads to cut down on our travel time!

Experiential Report

Overall, the ride is a very comfortable and quick one and from check in to disembarkation, the entire staff was very friendly and helpful!

Our Sunshine Flyer appeared at the Grand Floridian exactly at the time that was printed on our ticket, and had to wait less than 10 minutes to be assigned a bus after we checked in at MCO. Very efficient!

The service reminded me of the now-extinct Magical Express, but with much newer, sleeker buses! Everything from the friendliness of the drivers and the ease of the trip made for an overall positive experience onboard.

Thanks so much to Sunshine Flyer for inviting us to check out their service between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World. This blog is part of a Paid Promotion that supports our content.
