A new exhibit inspired by Pixar’s newest film Soul will soon debut at Epcot’s America pavilion for guests to explore.
During a Jan. 12 media event held at Epcot, participants first learned about the newest addition coming to The American Adventure at the Walt Disney World (WDW) theme park.
And as shared by the Disney Parks Blog on Tuesday, an exhibit called “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” is being added to the World Showcase pavilion and will explore “colorful and surprising history of jazz,” per Carmen Smith, Creative Executive and Vice President Creative Development and Inclusive Strategies at Walt Disney Imagineering.

Exhibit Details

Guests will be able to explore the history of jazz music with help from Soul lead character Joe Gardner (who is voiced by Jamie Foxx).
As Smith shared in the video above, the exhibit will follow Joe on a musical tour across America with stops in New Orleans, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and San Juan.
Disney is even “working with some of the top jazz museums across this country from New Orleans to New York” to bring the exhibit to life, Smith revealed.
“The Soul of Jazz” is set to join the pavilion sometime this February.
The Exhibit Will Inspire

What makes Epcot and the World Showcase so special is that they celebrate a range of cultures, diversity, and history.
That’s exactly what Disney hopes to do through “The Soul of Jazz.”
As Smith noted in her video announcement, “One of my favorite things about Epcot is the fact that it truly celebrates the world in a very authentic way. Telling stories about people from every walk of life and when that happens, magic happens.”
And she’s even more excited for the exhibit to do the same. “Jazz is the story of America,” Smith said. “It unites people from every walk of life. It’s a living, breathing art form that’s always evolving and always changing.”
As we learn more details about the exhibit, we’ll be sure to share them with you.
