The Earl of Sandwich is back, with a newly-expanded menu and a fresh location at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District. 

The Earl is back – and now, you can enjoy so much more than sandwiches at this popular quick service restaurant at the Disneyland Resort. While the Earl of Sandwich returned unexpectedly to the Downtown Disney District in early February 2023 in the former home of the La Brea Bakery, another change has taken place to give Guests even more options. Now, you can grab a sandwich to go from Earl of Sandwich or sit down for a full meal at the new Earl of Sandwich Tavern.

What will you find at this new dining spot? Here’s what you can expect when you visit the Earl of Sandwich Tavern.

Earl of Sandwich Tavern is a New Table Service Concept

In all of its previous iterations (and locations) within Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District, Earl of Sandwich has been primarily a quick service restaurant only. It’s a spot to stop to grab a bite you can bring into the parks or eat on the go. And while the previous Earl of Sandwich location near the former ESPN Zone did have an outdoor seating area to dine “in” the restaurant, quick service was the only option.

Now that Earl of Sandwich is temporarily open in the old La Brea Bakery building, there’s plenty of room for table service dining! And that’s where you’ll find the new Earl of Sandwich Tavern. 

Earl of Sandwich Tavern is a sit-down dining experience that serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner for hungry Guests. The Tavern is an all-new concept that’s debuting for the very first time at Disneyland Resort, marking Earl of Sandwich’s first expansion into serving its signature hot sandwiches, salads, bakery items, and breakfast dishes in a new format. 

As Robert Earl, CEO of Earl Enterprises stated, “We are thrilled to be back, serving ‘the World’s Famous Hot Sandwich’ to our loyal fanbase visiting from across the globe. The Downtown Disney District has previously been a home for our restaurant family and we are happy to return, this time introducing Earl of Sandwich Tavern to our devoted customers for a full-service dining experience. Now, both guests looking to take their time or grab and go can enjoy our fresh sandwiches, salads and other specialty menu items.”

What’s on the Menu at Earl of Sandwich Tavern

When you visit Earl of Sandwich Tavern at Disneyland Resort, you’ll be able to sit down and enjoy a full menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. With a full indoor bar, you’ll also be able to order everything from signature cocktails to beer and wine to pair with your meal.

What, exactly, will you find on the menu? Earl of Sandwich Tavern will serve options like:

• Croissant French Toast
• Breakfast Slam
• Avocado Toast
• Breakfast Burrito
• Eggs Benedict
• Western Omelet
• Sesame Ginger Salmon
• Spaghetti and Meatballs
• Fish Tacos
• Fish and Chips
• Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
• Roasted Prime Rib of Beef
• Slow Roasted Chicken

And of course, you’ll find plenty of Earl’s signature sandwiches on the menu, too! You can choose from classics like Grilled Cheese, Turkey Club, and a Down Town Burger. If you’re looking for something more exciting, the Tavern also offers special sandwiches like a B.E.L.T. Sandwich, Turkey Bacon Panini, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Chimichurri Steak Sandwich, and a Mac-N-Cheese Burger.
