Testing Begins for Disney Skyliner Gondola System

The Disney Skyliner gondola transportation system has been under construction for over a year and is expected to open this fall.

Last week, guests may have noticed that some of the gondolas for the Disney Skyliner have been installed. Disney has begun preliminary testing in anticipation of the grand opening this fall.

This gondola transportation system will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to the four surrounding Disney resorts – Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and the upcoming Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Disney also released some more gondola concept art! The gondolas will feature images of notable Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Pete, Horace Horsecollar, and Clarabelle Cow.

  • “Lilo & Stitch”
  • “Moana”
  • “Peter Pan”
  • “The Princess and the Frog”

  • “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”
  • “Zootopia”
  • “Coco”
  • “Finding Dory”
  • The Haunted Mansion
  • “Monsters, Inc.”
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • “Ratatouille”
  • “Guardians of the Galaxy”
  • “Toy Story”
  • “Star Wars”

Disney has not yet announced an official grand opening date, but we will keep you updated. For now, it’s expected to open this fall!
