Storyliving by Disney is the closest you will get to being allowed to actually live inside your favorite Disney Park.
If you’ve always dreamed about living at a Disney Park, we have some exciting news for you. No, you can’t move into Cinderella Castle, but soon you will be able to live in a planned community designed by Disney Imagineers and created with the magic of Disney in mind.

Introducing Storyliving by Disney
Storyliving by Disney will start with a new neighborhood designed by Disney in collaboration with DMB Development in the Palm Springs, California, area. The neighborhood, named Cotina, will feature a giant 24-acre grand oasis in its center, with homes surrounding the water. The oasis itself will use Crystal Lagoons technology, which builds bodies of water with low water consumption and minimal additives.

In addition to homes surrounding the oasis, there will also be a beach area with water recreation activities, a beachfront hotel, and a beach park.
At Contina, you’ll have several choices of homes to buy, including estates, single-family homes, and condominiums. No matter what type of home you choose, Disney magic is guaranteed as soon as you move into the neighborhood.
Choosing Cotina’s Location
You might wonder why Palm Springs was chosen as the location for the very first Storyliving by Disney community. But the area is very significant in the history of Disney, as it was somewhere Walt and Lillian Disney used to visit when they wanted to get away from it all. Building the first community here is the perfect tribute to the father of Mickey Mouse.

Future Plans
After Cotina is built and opened, there will be more locations to follow, including some areas designed for those age 55 and older. (Side note: I have a while to go before I hit 55, but sign me up for that retirement life, Disney-style!)

Disney hasn’t announced where these additional neighborhoods will be built, just that “additional locations in the US are under exploration for future development,” according to a press release.
What we do know is that each location will include access to wellness programming, entertainment, philanthropic endeavors, seminars, and more. Each location will be staffed by trained Cast Members whose job will be to make your home life the most magical it can be.
