Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops continues to take shape with six newly announced restaurants and retailers joining Disney’s first Storyliving community.
Storyliving by Disney has announced six new dining and shopping destinations coming to Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops, the waterfront town center at Cotino in Rancho Mirage, California. When the first phase opens in spring 2027, visitors will be able to enjoy everything from authentic Italian cuisine and Mexican dining to artisan shopping, homemade gelato, fresh juices, and sustainable home goods, all overlooking Cotino Bay.
Perhaps most exciting for Disney fans who don’t plan on buying a home at Cotino, much of the waterfront town center will be open to the public, making it possible to experience part of Disney’s newest lifestyle destination without becoming a resident.
A New Wave of Dining Arrives at Cotino Bay
Storyliving by Disney continues to emphasize local businesses and regional favorites, with many of the newest tenants already well known throughout California’s Coachella Valley.
Asada Cantina + Kitchen
Bringing its San Clemente roots to Rancho Mirage, Asada Cantina + Kitchen will serve vibrant Mexican cuisine alongside handcrafted cocktails in a lively atmosphere. The full-service restaurant is expected to be open daily for lunch and dinner.
SottoSopra
Created by the team behind the popular SottoVoce Cafe, SottoSopra will bring authentic Italian flavors to the waterfront. Guests can stop in for breakfast pastries and espresso, enjoy paninis for lunch, or settle in for dinner with dishes like ossobuco, risotto giallo, and Italian wines.
Big Juice
For lighter fare, Big Juice will offer protein smoothies, cold-pressed juices, specialty coffee, and healthy breakfast and lunch options. Already a favorite throughout the Coachella Valley, the restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients and wellness-inspired meals.
Shopping Highlights Local Artisans
Beyond restaurants, Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops will feature several locally owned retailers designed to showcase the creativity of the surrounding desert communities.
Mojave Flea Trading Post
One of the biggest additions is Mojave Flea Trading Post, an experiential marketplace featuring rotating collections from artists, vintage curators, and independent makers. Shoppers can browse handmade ceramics, vintage clothing, home décor, artwork, apothecary products, and gifts sourced from the Coachella Valley, Joshua Tree, and beyond.
It Refills
Sustainability takes center stage at It Refills, a refill shop offering household cleaners, laundry products, soaps, toothpaste, and other everyday essentials designed to reduce single-use packaging.
La Dolce Piccola Gelateria
No waterfront stroll is complete without dessert. La Dolce Piccola Gelateria will serve fresh homemade gelato, artisan baked goods, and coffee in a family-owned shop inspired by traditional Italian flavors.
More Than Just Restaurants and Shops
The waterfront destination isn’t simply a collection of businesses.
Visitors will find shaded walkways, outdoor gathering spaces, and an open-air marketplace overlooking Cotino Bay. Storyliving by Disney also announced that the town center will regularly host:
- Farmers’ markets featuring local growers
- Live music performances
- Art displays
- Seasonal celebrations
- Community events throughout the year
Guests will also be able to purchase admission to Cotino Bay Beach, giving non-residents the opportunity to spend time along the turquoise lagoon. Disney says additional ticketing details will be announced closer to opening.
Previously Announced Tenants
The latest announcements build on three businesses Disney previously revealed for the waterfront district:
- Elevare, an elevated dining experience with panoramic waterfront views
- Artigiano, the Canadian craft coffee company making its first U.S. location at Cotino
- On the Mark Fine Foods & Provisions, a gourmet neighborhood marketplace
Together, these businesses will create a walkable waterfront destination featuring dining, shopping, entertainment, and community gathering spaces.
The Commercial Heart of Disney’s First Storyliving Community
Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops serve as the public-facing centerpiece of Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney residential community. While homeowners have access to additional resident-exclusive amenities through optional Artisan Club memberships, the waterfront town center is designed to welcome both residents and visitors.
The community itself features homes from Shea Homes, Woodbridge Pacific Group, Davidson Communities, and Brian Foster Residences, with pricing beginning in the mid-$1 million range.
The first phase of Cotino Bay Beach, Dining, Shops is scheduled to open in spring 2027, with Disney confirming that additional restaurants, retail locations, and even a hotel are planned for future phases of development.
