Disney has announced that Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be closing permanently this fall, with the last voyage scheduled to take place from September 28th to 30th, 2023.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opened to guests a little over a year ago. The hotel was a first for Disney and truly the theme park world at large. It’s a fully immersive, two-night experience allowing guests to live out their Star Wars adventure aboard the Halcyon. The experience includes galactic dining, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge trips, and plenty of immersive character experiences. But, Disney has now shared that Galactic Starcruiser will be having its last voyage later this year in the fall.

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will have its last voyage from September 28th to 30th, 2023. In a statement, Disney shared, “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.” Disney will contact guests who have booked a voyage for September 30th or later to discuss alternative options. At this time, new booking are temporarily paused, but will reopen on May 26th.
In a statement shared with Brooke Geiger McDonald, Disney emphasized that their decision to close Starcruiser permanently is ultimately a business decision, sharing, “This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”

An incredibly immersive experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is also a notably expensive one. Voyages typically cost an average of $1,200 per person per day, meaning a family excursion is several thousand dollars. The two-day cost includes the hotel room, all food and beverages (excluding speciality and alcoholic drinks), as well as a one-day ticket to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
