Ahead of World of Frozen’s official grand opening on November 20, Hong Kong Disneyland hosted “A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen.”
We are just a few days away from the official opening of World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland. When it opens on November 20, World of Frozen will be the first-ever fully Frozen-inspired land to open at a Disney property. Ahead of the exciting opening, Disney hosted “A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen” to celebrate the upcoming land.
“A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen”
Guests from around the world were invited to attend “A Spectacular Celebration of World of Frozen,” where they were given the chance to experience the new area of Hong Kong Disneyland. Special guests for the celebration included Bob Iger, CEO of the Walt Disney Company, and Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Experiences. Also on hand was Jennifer Lee, Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios, and the Oscar-winning writer/director of both Frozen and Frozen 2.
“The ‘Frozen’ franchise is one of the most successful in Disney history and it’s a testament to the power of great storytelling, which is the foundation of The Walt Disney Company,” said Iger. “It’s been this way for 100 years, and our commitment to storytelling and creativity will continue to define our next 100.”
D’Amaro also shared his excitement for the immersive experience, saying, “Our Imagineers worked with the team at Disney Animation to ensure every detail is just right. World of Frozen transports you to another world, where you can have fun with your loved ones and make some incredible memories together.”
Jennifer Lee was a key creative force behind the franchise, and she spoke to the opportunity to get to see it come to life. “We could not have dreamt that one day, we would have the opportunity to walk through and truly experience the kingdom of Arendelle as we all are today. I stand here – representing all of our artists who have worked together to create the ‘Frozen’ films – inspired and amazed.”
The celebration for the event took place along the Bay of Arendelle, where Elsa cast her Ice Magic to summon Olaf. Then, Queen Anna proclaimed the gates of Arendelle open, allowing all the invited guests to experience the land underneath the night sky. World of Frozen will fully open in just a few days, beginning November 20.
