Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has received a huge storyline change and new interactive elements. Here’s everything to know.
A brand-new mission featuring Din Djarin and Grogu is officially coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, and it’s set to completely change the way guests experience the attraction.
Beginning May 22, 2026, the same day The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters, guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be recruited by Hondo Ohnaka for an all-new mission aboard the Millennium Falcon. This updated adventure sends flight crews across the galaxy alongside the Mandalorian and Grogu as they track down ex-Imperial officers and recover valuable cargo.
But this isn’t just a small overlay or updated scene. Walt Disney Imagineering says the new storyline was designed to make Smugglers Run feel like a completely fresh experience with branching paths, interactive choices, upgraded gameplay, and hidden surprises throughout the mission.
A New Storyline on Smugglers Run
The new mission begins on Tatooine, where riders join Din Djarin in pursuing a group of former Imperial officers. From there, the mission can branch in multiple directions depending on the choices made by the crew.

Flight engineers will decide which bounty to follow, which means your journey could take you to several iconic Star Wars locations, including:
- Bespin’s Cloud City
- The city-covered planet of Coruscant
- The ruins of the second Death Star orbiting Endor
According to Walt Disney Imagineering, every destination was built with multiple pathways and details designed to encourage repeat rides.
The mission was developed in collaboration with The Mandalorian creative team, including Director Jon Favreau and Lucasfilm Chief Creative Officer Dave Filoni. Imagineers were even invited onto the film set to capture footage and help connect the attraction to the world of the upcoming movie.
