Planning a visit in 2026? Here’s everything to know about the Shanghai Disney Resort 10th Anniversary celebration, including the new logo, fireworks, expansions, and what’s coming next.
Planning a visit to Shanghai Disney Resort? There’s never been a more exciting time to go.
Shanghai Disney Resort is officially celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking a decade since the resort first opened on June 16, 2016. What began as Disney’s first theme park destination in mainland China has grown into one of the most successful Disney resorts in the world, welcoming more than 100 million guests and continuously expanding with new attractions, lands, hotels, and entertainment.
Now, Disney is celebrating this milestone with a year-long anniversary event featuring new entertainment, exclusive experiences, anniversary merchandise, special dining offerings, and major expansion projects that offer a glimpse into the resort’s future.
When Is Shanghai Disney Resort’s 10th Anniversary?
Shanghai Disney Resort officially celebrated its 10th anniversary on June 16, 2026, but the festivities extend far beyond a single day.
Disney has positioned the milestone as a year-long celebration under the theme “With You, It’s Magic+”, honoring the guests, cast members, Imagineers, and partners who have helped shape the resort’s first decade.

The first teaser for the anniversary arrived during the resort’s New Year’s Eve festivities on December 31, 2025, when the anniversary logo was projected onto Enchanted Storybook Castle for the first time. Since then, Disney has gradually revealed new entertainment, expansion plans, and anniversary offerings leading into the official celebration.
The Meaning Behind the “With You, It’s Magic+” Theme
At the center of the anniversary celebration is the resort’s new 10th Birthday logo.
The gold-and-blue design features the number ten rising above Enchanted Storybook Castle, with sparkling wishing stars surrounding the castle silhouette. The “+” symbol carries special significance, representing both the Chinese character for ten (“十”) and Disney’s promise that even more magic, innovation, and experiences are still ahead.
According to Disney, the “With You, It’s Magic+” theme is intended as a tribute to everyone who has contributed to Shanghai Disney Resort’s success over the past decade.
A Decade of Extraordinary Growth
Ten years after opening, Shanghai Disney Resort has established itself as one of Disney’s greatest international success stories.
In October 2025, Shanghai Disneyland welcomed its 100 millionth guest, achieving the milestone in just over nine years of operation. Today, the resort employs more than 15,000 cast members, with 99 percent coming from China.
The resort’s growth has been driven by its guiding philosophy of being “Authentically Disney, Distinctly Chinese.” Rather than simply importing existing Disney experiences, Shanghai Disney Resort was designed specifically for Chinese audiences, incorporating local culture into its architecture, food, storytelling, entertainment, and guest experiences.
The approach has proven remarkably successful, helping Shanghai Disneyland become one of the most visited theme parks in the world.
New Entertainment Debuts for the Anniversary
The 10th anniversary celebration isn’t just about looking back—it’s also bringing brand-new experiences to guests.
Among the new additions is The Heart of Magic, a new castle stage show that celebrates Disney storytelling and the resort’s first decade of memories.

Guests can also enjoy an enhanced version of Mickey’s Storybook Express, along with a special anniversary finale added to Illuminate! A Nighttime Spectacular. The updated ending incorporates anniversary music, projections, and celebratory moments designed specifically for the resort’s 10th birthday.
Together, these additions help transform the anniversary from a simple celebration into a full-scale entertainment event.
Zootopia Continues to Be a Major Success
One of the resort’s biggest achievements heading into its second decade remains Zootopia.
Opened in December 2023, Zootopia became the world’s first and only land inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit film. The land quickly became one of the most popular areas in the park, with nearly two-thirds of guests experiencing its signature attraction, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, during their visit.

The attraction has become the highest-rated ride in Shanghai Disneyland and remains a major draw for guests. Disney reports that riders have collectively traveled approximately 910,000 kilometers aboard the attraction’s police cruisers—equivalent to circling the Earth 22 times.
With Zootopia 2 arriving in theaters, the land is expected to remain an important part of Shanghai Disney Resort’s future.
Major Expansions Are Already Underway
The anniversary celebration is arriving alongside some of the largest expansion projects in resort history.
Most notably, Shanghai Disneyland is actively constructing its ninth themed land, which will be inspired by Spider-Man. Disney recently confirmed that the final section of the attraction’s signature red coaster track has been installed, marking a major construction milestone.

The new land will feature Shanghai Disneyland’s first major Marvel attraction, along with themed dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences designed to immerse guests in the Marvel universe.
The resort is also continuing work on an expansion of Soaring Over the Horizon, one of Shanghai Disneyland’s most popular attractions.
A New Disney Hotel Is Coming Soon
The resort’s hotel offerings are also expanding. Disney recently announced the name of its third themed hotel: Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel.

Located adjacent to the existing Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, the 400-room deluxe property draws inspiration from the resort’s iconic Wishing Star and Shanghai’s Art Nouveau architectural heritage. Disney says the hotel will feature immersive Disney storytelling, themed recreation areas, indoor and outdoor pools, and views overlooking both Shanghai Disneyland and Wishing Star Park.
The hotel is expected to open this winter. A fourth Disney hotel is also in development near the park’s main entrance.
More Than a Theme Park
As Shanghai Disney Resort celebrates its first decade, Disney is also highlighting the impact the resort has had beyond its gates.
Over the past ten years, the resort has granted more than 500 Disney Wishes for children with critical illnesses, helped establish 50 Disney Fun Houses across mainland China, and contributed more than 77,000 volunteer hours through its Disney VoluntEARS program.
The resort has also become a leader in environmental sustainability. In 2022, Shanghai Disney Resort became the world’s first resort to earn LEED Platinum certification under the LEED v4.1 Communities rating system.
Meanwhile, Wishing Star Park has evolved into a thriving ecosystem, with 136 bird species documented within the area. The resort has also recycled more than 11.9 million cubic meters of water since opening through its conservation initiatives.
