See Walt Disney World The Disney DINKs Way

by | Apr 30, 2021 | Magic at Home, Walt Disney World

Wanting to see Walt Disney World from an adult perspective? Give a little whistle and let The Disney Dinks be your guide!

There are millions of different ways to have an amazing Walt Disney World experience. There is always fun to be had at each park and attractions that appeal to any Disney lover, from the young to the young at heart.

Julie and Andrew, more recognizable as The Disney DINKs, specialize in seeing the parks and experiences from the perspective of a DINK (Dual Income, No Kids). Without most constraints, they wanted to provide people with strong sound advice of the potential offerings that Disney visitors may not get to experience.

From food and movie reviews to documenting their park experiences, Julie and Andrew turned their personal project into information that would help all people regardless of their story.

Two Is Better Than One

Disney was and is a family affair for Julie and Andrew. When they were dating “their first vacation with [Julie’s] family was to Disney World, and it was also where he decided to propose”.

They were married in Disney and took a Disney cruise for their honeymoon, and before they knew it their Disney love “became kind of a part of [them]”.

Their teamwork also has advantages when it comes to producing the blog. Andrew “is more of the research paper writer and gets all of the guts” while Julie “makes it more of the story and makes it look that much better, through both the words and the pictures”.

Seeing A Different Path

Part of the DINK experience is not being tied down to specific attractions or heavily traveled parks.

After moving to Orlando a few years ago to fulfill a life dream, they wanted to experience everything that the parks had to offer. “We really concentrate,” Andrew said, “on doing things off the beaten path or new things. Our goal is to try every different restaurant now. There’s so many of them; it’s hard to do!”

Julie adds that their attitude now sometimes includes “just stopping and smelling the Disney roses” and being in the moment.

The Start of The Disney DINKs

The Disney DINKs brand, a subsidiary of Julie’s JK Creative umbrella, started out as a way of documenting their own travels. It was “a personal project [that] quickly turned more into information that was helpful to other people”.

“We really just enjoy sharing this information that helps people… We knew too many people that would plan their first trip to Disney and just make all the mistakes and overextend themselves.”

The Honesty and Perspective of A Blog Review

Julie and Andrew are quick to admit that the way that they see Walt Disney World may be different from how others may have experienced it. Their reviews are personal so that readers can get to know them, while they also attempt to see those experiences with different lenses.

The experience “may not be perfect” for them, especially when they try “places that aren’t quite [their] thing”, but they “completely understand why others might really enjoy it and try to put that out there”.

The Shop

When you head to The Disney DINKs website you will also be treated to their online shop.

Right away you will notice that The Disney Dinks store has a specific aesthetic. Their merchandise, which includes drinkware, apparel, bags, home decor, and luggage tags, all have “clean, crisp designs that are universal and that are straightforward”.

Don’t Be Afraid to Say Hello

Julie and Andrew love seeing and meeting other Disney fans!  They do, however, “always feel bad when we see you but you weren’t sure if you wanted to say hi. Say hi!  We love talking to our Disney neighbors…we will sit there and talk for hours about Disney!”

Their hope is that their words of Disney wisdom will create even more magical moments for their readers. The best part of their experience is hearing that their information had value.

Julie said, “When we can have an impact on somebody having an amazing time, that’s awesome. We love getting messages like that… we’re impacting people’s lives and that’s why we really like doing it.”

If you are trying to find them in the parks, you are almost guaranteed to find them at The Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. You can also follow them on Instagram!
