Here’s a step-by-step guide on how you can register for your next runDisney race.
Before Registration Day
- Create (or confirm) your Disney Account and runDisney account. Many parts of the registration process require you to be signed into your Disney Account.
- Log into the runDisney registration portal and test your account: Go to the official registration site and sign in to see your dashboard and stored profile details. Make sure your name exactly matches government ID you’ll bring to packet pickup.
- Gather everything you’ll need to type quickly: full name (as on ID), date of birth, gender, address, emergency contact, shirt size, payment card, and proof-of-time document (if you’ll register for an event that requires a qualifying time).
- Decide backup options. Races often sell out quickly — pick a second (and even third) race choice and distance in case your first option sells out.
- Know the registration time in your time zone. Most runDisney general registrations open at 10:00 AM ET (confirm the specific event time on the event page). Be ready at least 10 minutes early.
Sign Up On Registration Day
- Open the runDisney registration page early. Have the event page and the registration portal loaded at least 5–10 minutes before opening. Use a desktop where possible; many racers also use a second device as backup.
- Sign in to your Disney/runDisney account. Confirm the account shows your saved profile info so you don’t need to retype it.
- When registration opens, select your event and distance. Click quickly but carefully — once a race sells out the option will disappear.
- Enter runner details for each participant. Double-check spelling, date of birth, and shirt size. If you’re registering others, have their IDs/details ready.
- Upload proof of time if required. Some race distances/challenges require a qualifying time or you might need to provide verification to register in an age group wave; upload any PDF/PNG required during registration.
- Complete payment. Registration is not final until payment processes — have a backup card ready. Fees are non-refundable.
- Sign the digital waiver (DocuSign) if required. Many runDisney events require completion of a digital participant waiver after registration to finalize your entry. Watch for email instructions.
- Save confirmation and transaction emails. You’ll receive a confirmation email with order number. Screenshot or save for your records.
- If you don’t get in: check the event page often (sometimes limited spots open later), consider charity or tour operator bibs, or sign up for a virtual race alternative. There is no official runDisney waitlist.
Club runDisney
One way to register early? Join Club runDisney. Club runDisney is a paid annual membership program that offers perks to dedicated runDisney participants (tiered as Silver, Gold, and Platinum). Benefits vary by tier and season, but Club runDisney members often get early registration windows and member-exclusive benefits.

Other incentives include exclusive merchandise and a welcome kit, member-only or early entry to the Health & Fitness Expo, special bib designation, and access to an exclusive virtual race. You can learn more about club runDisney here.
Frequently Asked Questions About runDisney Races
What distances are offered at runDisney race weekends?
runDisney race weekends typically include a 5K, 10K, half-marathon (13.1 miles), and in the case of Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, a full marathon (26.2 miles). Many weekends also feature kid-friendly Diaper Dashes and Family Fun Runs, plus challenge options that combine multiple race distances for an extra medal.
Do runDisney races sell out?
Yes, runDisney races are extremely popular and frequently sell out within hours of general registration opening. High-demand events like the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend and Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend are especially prone to selling out fast. Club runDisney members get early access, which is one of the program’s biggest draws.
How much do runDisney races cost?
Registration fees vary by event and distance. 5Ks are generally the most affordable option, while full marathons and challenge entries are the most expensive. Fees are non-refundable once registration is complete. Check the official runDisney website for current pricing when registration opens.
Can I run a runDisney race if I’m not staying at a Disney resort?
Yes! You do not need to be a Disney resort guest to participate in runDisney events. However, staying on the property can make logistics easier, as Disney offers transportation to race start areas. Off-property runners will need to arrange their own transportation, as race start times are typically very early in the morning.
Is there a runDisney waitlist?
There is no official runDisney waitlist. If a race sells out, your best options are to monitor the event page for any spots that open up, look into charity bib programs, or book through an authorized runDisney travel partner that may have reserved entries.
What should I wear to a runDisney race?
Most runDisney participants wear Disney-themed costumes or running gear, and it’s highly encouraged! There are costume guidelines to follow (no full masks, no capes over a certain length, etc.), so check the official runDisney rules before race day. Comfort and moisture-wicking fabrics are your best friend for early morning Florida or California weather.
Are runDisney races timed?
Yes, all runDisney races are chip-timed. There is also a minimum pace requirement — typically 16 minutes per mile — and participants who fall behind the pace may be swept from the course.
