New Ride Vehicle Concept Art

At the International Association of Amusement Parks Convention (IAAPA) this week, Bob Chapek (Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman) revealed new details and concept art for the ride vehicle for the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction coming to EPCOT. Disney describes the ride vehicle as “a one-of-a-kind storytelling coaster that connects the adventure of a storyline with the thrills of a coaster.”

Bob Chapek explains that while most coasters strictly point the rider forward, this new “storytelling coaster” will be programed to direct the rider’s eye to where the action is, allowing you to be completely immersed in the story from start to finish.

Construction is well under way for this attraction. The foundation has been poured and the show building construction is visible from the parking lot and from the park itself. The attraction is expected to be completed by Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
