Craving a character breakfast with a unique, Mediterranean twist? Look no further than Topolino’s Terrace located at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

I recently had the opportunity to experience character dining during breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace. Scroll on to see the menu, what the experience, entails, and my review—plus lots of yummy pictures!

Located in one of Disney’s newest resorts, Topolino’s Terrace transports guests to the Mediterranean. This resort is just one Skyliner stop away from EPCOT (and two away from Disney’s Hollywood Studios), so it’s the perfect breakfast spot before your park day.

The best part? It lets you get character dining out of the way in the morning so your park day can be more focused on attractions and less on waiting in line for meet-and-greets and autographs.

Grand chandeliers, neutral colors and large windows are the most impressive decorative features of this restaurant. The large windows give guests a glimpse of the sweeping views of Walt Disney World and beyond.

While you’ll feel like you’re in Italy or France instead of Florida, rest assured the Disney magic you’re accustomed to is right around the corner

Unlike dinner at Topolino’s, breakfast is indeed a character experience featuring some of your Disney favorites like Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. But, they aren’t themed in the regular outfits you’ve come to know.

Topolino’s Terrace is home to Painter Mickey, Poet Minnie, Sculptor Donald, and Ballerina Daisy.

While dinner is often a winner in a lot of visitors’ books, we’re here for the unique breakfast, and boy, was it an amazing experience.

Whether you’re looking for lighter fare or a decadent breakfast to start your day, Topolino’s Terrace has options for you. The restaurant utilizes a QR code to access the menu currently.

The great part about breakfast at Topolino’s is that you don’t have to just choose one item. Priced at $42 per adult, the Topolino’s character breakfast allows you to choose one main dish plus additional, smaller dishes. This is a great way to try many different foods.

Plus, when you are seated, you’re given a basket of pastries to start off your meal, which is not common for Disney breakfasts.

Of course, like any breakfast, eggs are a staple, but there are some other unique options that are available. The Sour Cream Waffles are an extremely popular dish. It is a nice sized portion and looks beautiful with Chantilly cream, berries, and, of course, a side of bacon.

Another attractive dish is the Wood-Fired Butchers Steak. (Tip: Order the Eggs and a side of the Butchers Steak and you’ve got yourself a Steak & Eggs breakfast, which is on my list for the next time.)

On my visit, I went for two options that are very much breakfast items. I had the Two Eggs Any Style with Bacon and Potatoes. Since I was able to order other items as well, I tried the Quiche Gruyere with house-made pancetta.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is home to their own Joffrey’s blend, the Riviera Resort Blend, which was the perfect accompaniment to my meal.

More Breakfast Options at the Riviera: The Riviera is also home to Primo Piatto, which is a Quick-Service restaurant with Table-Service quality food. Pastry Basket

When we were seated, the first thing we received was the delicious pastry basket. The basket had a nice variety of items such as chocolate chip muffins, apple turnovers, and croissants.

I highly recommend the chocolate chip muffins in the basket. They were fresh and had the right amount of chocolate that made you feel like you were sneaking a delicious muffin.

Also included with the pastry basket was a variety of spreads, such as honey butter, chocolate-hazelnut, and housemade jam. While I didn’t try any of these myself, other members of my party did and said they were delicious accompaniments to the basket.

Two Eggs, Any Style

You’re probably wondering why I ordered something so common like eggs, with all of those other choices. For me, a classic egg breakfast is a great way to judge a restaurant’s breakfast.

Luckily, it was the right option! This breakfast dish featured delicious, fresh scrambled eggs, well-seasoned breakfast potatoes, and your choice of bacon or sausage

If you’re looking for something safe that you’re sure you’ll like, then this is a solid dish to get.

Quiche Gruyere

As my second, smaller dish, I opted for the Quiche Gruyere. While the full dish comes with roasted potatoes, the smaller dish was just the quiche.

This quiche was really good. However, while it had some nice flavors, it was a little heavy on the onion. That might be ideal for some, but if you’re not too keen on a lot of onion in your dish, stay clear of this one. But if you don’t mind. you should definitely try it.

I was really happy with all of the options I ordered. I did catch some peeks of other guests’ meals, so I will definitely be back to try out other dishes.

“In All the World You’ve Come to Topolino’s…”

I would be remiss to write a review about Topolino’s without talking a little bit more about the main event: the characters. When I visited, social distancing protocols were in full effect, but didn’t stop the fun.

Each character was announced individually and walked around the restaurant for photos, giving each table ample time for pictures and interactions. Once all four characters finished up individually, we were in for a real treat.

The music started, and the characters came out and danced around the restaurant to their signature song about Topolino’s. Have your cameras ready, because it’s a fun few minutes.

What to Know about Character Dining at Topolino’s Terrace

Topolino’s is one of the busiest restaurants in Walt Disney World, so I highly recommend trying to obtain Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) for it ahead of time

With that said, ADRs are extremely difficult to get for Topolino’s Terrace, so definitely try to make reservations as early as possible. Of course, if you don’t find reservations immediately, keep trying since guests will sometimes cancel as their reservation gets closer.

Being a character breakfast, this spot is also extremely kid-friendly. They offer a create-your-own entrée meal for kids 3-9 at $27 with options such as scrambled eggs, fruit and yogurt, and an adorable Mickey waffle breakfast that looks like an artist palette.

Something else to take note of at Topolino’s is the amazing rooftop and views that you have access to as a guest. After eating, I highly recommend you head onto the balcony. You’ll have amazing views of EPCOT and Hollywood Studios plus other resorts.

Don’t forget on your way out to receive a special souvenir card with photos of all of the characters who meet at breakfast as well as their autographs on the back.
