This week I had the chance to check out a new audio tour from Krista Joy – she’s a fellow Disney lover and I couldn’t wait to listen in as she took me on a virtual tour of one of EPCOT’s most beloved pavilion – Mexico.

Before we get into this fun CD, let’s take a moment to talk about Krista.  She’s an entrepreneur who was born and raised in Orlando, and she’s the owner of Disneyways and Living The Dream Podcast. She knows Disney World inside and out.

For this project (the first in a series called “A Walk Through EPCOT’s World Showcase”), Krista teamed up with Karyn Locke (who WDW Magazine readers will recognize as a regular contributor to the magazine!) to create a charming, informative audio tour of EPCOT’s Mexico pavilion.  I listened to the tour at home, and felt instantly transported to EPCOT, and I bet it would be lots of fun to listen to on your iPod while walking around the pavilion itself – like those guided audio tours at museums… but even better because it’s DISNEY!

The tour includes a number of tracks and takes about 30 mins to listen to in its entirety.  You can expect to hear traditional music and sound effects that bring the magic of Mexico alive.  Krista serves as your tour guide inside and outside of the pavilion’s Mayan temple – including focuses on The Grand Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros, restuarants, the marketplace, and more.  She gives insider tips, history on crafts, culture, food, and architecture – and for WDW first timers, Disney history enthusiats, or documentary lovers this tour really hits the mark.

I’m a huge fan of EPCOT, and I learned lots of new things from Krista’s tour.  Since this is labelled Volume 1, I can only hope that more of the World Showcase pavilions will be released as future tours!
