REVIEW: Docking Bay 7 Menu at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Looking for good eats in Batuu? Not sure if the exotic menu is kid-friendly? Here is our honest review of the Docking Bay 7 menu! Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a quick-service location located in Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studio. Its detailed interior matches those of Galaxy’s Edge and offers unique and exotic foods to visitors of the land. While these unique offerings may spike the interest of adventurous eaters, it may also deter picky eaters and kids. Well, I’m here to tell you that not only do my boys (age 7 and 4) love the whole atmosphere of this quick-service location, but they’re also big fans of its food. Docking Bay 7 can be located up the steps and across from Star Wars: Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run. But don’t worry, there are detailed descriptions listed under each meal item! However, if you are a huge Star Wars fan, you’ll find the name of the dishes to be quite clever and fitting. Let's start with Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip, a favorite for adults and kids in my family. Endorian chickens, also known as tip-yip in Ewokese, were a species of bird that lived on the moon of Endor. Takodana (as seen in the Takodana Veggie Dippers meal) is a planet of the Mid Rim, and Peka (in the Peka Pasta Rings meal) is the river community of Planet Batuu. My husband usually orders the adult entree, while one of my sons will order the kids’ version. One of the things I like about dining at Docking Bay 7 is the metal skillets they use as plates with fun sporks as utensils. The adult and kids versions can look identical (depending on what side you order for the adult entree), with just the kids’ version being smaller in size. The Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip is breaded on the outside, giving it a nice crunch while the inside meat is very tender. The mac and cheese is fun with ring pastas, and the broccoli is always well roasted with flavor. Peka Pasta Rings The Peka Pasta Rings is another meal we order from time to time. The plant-based meat marinara sauce is delicious and a great plant-based option for kids. They use the same fun pasta rings as they do for the mac and cheese, and it also comes with a side of roasted broccoli, creating a delicious and balanced meal. Veggie Dippers for Younglings The only kids’ meal we have not tried is the Takodana Veggie Dipper Youngling Meal, but it is very creative. The dish looks as if the vegetables were growing out of the black bean hummus and edible soil! We will definitely have to give it a try the next time we visit Galaxy’s Edge. Batuu-Bon And lastly, we can’t forget the dessert! The Batuu-bon is beautiful with its purple and pink chocolate shell. My kids loved the white chocolate mousse inside and even enjoyed the coffee-flavored custard. Is the Docking Bay 7 Menu Kid-Friendly?
