Hear our honest thoughts and must-order menu items in our Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ review.
If you’re looking for one of the best meals at Disney Springs, look no further than Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. Located in The Landing next to Morimoto Asia, Homecomin’ serves up some of the tastiest food I’ve had at Disney. The biscuits are bountiful, the chicken is crispy, and the portions are plenty.
Come and Get It!
Homecomin’ is a casual dining spot in Disney Springs and features a delicious menu created by Chef Art Smith, who has worked for former Florida governors and was Oprah Winfery’s personal chef.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ has been serving brunch, lunch, and dinner since they opened on July 12, 2016. You’ll want to book your reservations as soon as possible for any—or all—of these meals … although maybe not on the same day.

The interior of the restaurant reminded me of a welcoming southern home with a choice of indoor and outdoor seating—covered to provide some protection from the Florida sun—with a mixture of tables and booths. Memorabilia provided by Chef Art lines the walls near the entrance and restrooms to give you a sense of how his experiences shaped his life, food, and connection to Disney.

The cuisine features American classics and new creations, lively libations, and delicious desserts. Prices range from $15 to $34.99.
Brunch is offered from 9:00 AM to 12:55 PM, and lunch and dinner hours align with Disney Springs’ operating hours. You can dress casually when dining here.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the fantastic foods Homecomin’ has to offer.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Menu
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ has something for everyone on their menu with a number of unique dishes and drinks to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters in your party.

Go for the atmosphere, stay for the biscuits … and more biscuits. Photo by Eric Freilich
If you go for Brunch, you can start your meal with some of my favorites:
- Biscuits (cheddar cheese drop biscuits, to be exact) served with blackberry fig jam or sawmill gravy (or both) for $8.00
- Church Lady Deviled Eggs (img 6950/half order) for $12.00
- House-made Doughnuts for $8.00
- Bee Haven Bay Fried Green Tomatoes for $14.00.

All of these items (except the doughnuts) are also available on the regular menu. In fact, if you dine there for Brunch, you can also order from the Lunch menu for a few hours.
While “researching” (aka pigging out in the name of journalism) this review of Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, my family didn’t dine for Brunch. However, we’ve had all of these items during previous visits, and every offering was delicious.
The Church Lady Deviled Eggs had the perfect “kick” from the paprika, and those Homecomin’s biscuits? Let’s just say they’ll make you forget about the ones from Red Lobster.
Other Brunch choices include:
- Short Rib Hash for $22.00
- French Toast for $17.00
- Fried Chicken & Doughnuts for $28.00
My family has tried the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts before, and their famous fried chicken is also available for lunch and dinner. It was some of the juiciest and most tender chicken we’ve ever had, and one of us ordered it on each visit.

Lunch and dinner offerings are similar. I highly recommend the Chopped Pork Barbecue Plate—careful, the sauce as has a kick—for $26.00.

Other recommendations from my family include:
- Thigh High Chicken Biscuits with a touch of hot honey complementing the chicken (img 6955) for $16.00
- Fried Chicken Salad for $18.00

For a side dish, try the extra cheesy Momma’s Mac and Cheese for $8.00.

No matter what you choose, Homecomin’s portions are more than filling.
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Kids Menu
Kids have plenty to choose from as well. Mine recommend the French Toast for $9.00 if you’re there for Brunch. Otherwise, the aforementioned Momma’s Mac and Cheese from the side dish menu is a good choice as well.

They can also order Fried Chicken Tenders, Fish Sticks, a Fried Chicken Sandwich, or a Cheeseburger. All are $10.00.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Dessert and Drinks Menu
Save room for dessert! I suggest the Hummingbird Cake, a pineapple-banana cake with cream cheese frosting served with a seasonal fruit gastrique and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream for $12.00
Another top contender is their signature Shine Cake for $11.00. This one is “adults only” as it’s soaked with moonshine syrup.
Speaking of moonshine, I highly recommend ordering the Blue Hooch (Blue Flame moonshine, lemon-infused moonshine, blue curaçao, house-made simple syrup, fresh lemon juice and a splash of Sprite).
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, as it’s over 100 proof. Our server during a previous visit brought us some straight-up to try, and strong doesn’t begin to describe it.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Review
While the food at Homecomin’ is the star of the show, it’s the staff who truly shine. We’ve always had fantastic service as they are very attentive, and we’ve never had to ask for a refill as they frequently returned to our table to see what we needed. Be sure to check out the humorous sayings on their shirts, too.
The atmosphere is a close second with large, open spaces and high ceilings in a rustic setting. If you can, request a window seat by the water for picturesque views of Disney Springs while you dine.

Homecomin’ also has items available for purchase at the front including cook books, hot sauce, and a refillable squeeze bottle you can use for discounted refills on certain drinks.

On all of our visits here, we’ve never been disappointed with the food or service. We’ve heard Chef Art Smith occasionally visits to meet with guests; however, we have yet to meet him. That’s OK—it just gives us another reason to return. 😉
A Few Things to Remember
Think you wanna give this southern cookin’ a shot after reading our review of Chef Art Smith’s Homecookin’? Here are some helpful tips for a smooth visit:
- Make reservations early. While it may be possible to dine without one, it’s a very popular dining location. It’s safer to make a reservation far out. - Skip the snacks before your meal. While Disney popcorn is a tasty treat, it will fill you up before you eat.
- It’s OK to ask for substitutions. The staff at Homecomin’ can accommodate most requests to swap out a side.
No matter what you order, you won’t be disappointed with your visit to Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’.
