A comprehensive guide to the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, that will be arriving at Magic Kingdom in 2025.

During the 2023 Destination D23, Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro teased that a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge would be coming to Magic Kingdom. This was confirmed during the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, when it was shared that the new lounge would be arriving in 2025 in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom – officially named The Beak and Barrel. We’re sharing everything you need to know about the upcoming space!

The Beak and Barrel Overview

The Beak and Barrel will be coming to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom on August 29, 2025. Reservations will be open August 14, so you can secure your spot for the sure-to-be popular lounge.

The first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of the ride, including the return of the Barker Bird, also known as Peg-Leg Pete. This is an iconic character from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction who used to appear on a perch that was visible to visitors passing through Adventureland.

Beak and Barrel Food and Drink Menu

Ahead of its opening, Disney has shared a first look at the food and drink that will be available for all ages at the Beak and Barrel.

The Treasure Trove

The Treasure Trove will be a non-alcoholic beverage “cloaked in mystery.” The drink combines ube, lemon, and coconut, with a vanilla cake plank, chocolate cannonball, and golden caramel popcorn served alongside.

 The Cursed Treasure

Another non-alcoholic option is the Cursed Treasure, combining coconut milk and cookie crumbs topped with vanilla foam and a pirate’s gold cookie.

Kraken’s Catch

A cold salad with octopus tentacles (yes, octopus!), marinated in lemon and lime juice and paired with olives, bell peppers, avocado, and Piquillo pepper-almond foam.

Salty Seas mARRRgarita

An alcoholic beverage, the Salty Seas mARRRgarita features Southeast Asian flavors, such as ube, which gives it the striking purple color, as well as Lalo Blanco Tequila, Cointreau Liqueur, and lime.

Siren’s Whisper

The Siren’s Whisper combines Pot & Column Still White Rum with citrus and spice. This sip was inspired by the Fountain of Youth, also known as the Aqua de Vida from the films. It’s topped with a single, special siren tear.

Cook’s Corn Griddle Cakes

A warm corn cake stuffed with melted cheese, lime sour cream, and chili peppers, then topped with cotija cheese. There are two options: one with roasted corn and poblano peppers, or one with chipotle-braised chicken.

Barrels Ablaze

Barrels Ablaze features Jack Daniel’s Bonded Bourbon, a hint of honey, and a dash of spice.

Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale

The Hibiscus Rum Punch Royale is a lightly sweet and refreshing rum-based drink, topped with prosecco. It also includes hibiscus, demerara, and citrus

Island Provisions

Island Provisions is a dish with flavors from the Caribbean and Central America regions. It’s a shareable plate of plantain chips, blue corn tortillas, and toasted flatbread served with various savory dips.

Port of Call

Port of Call features London Dry Gin, Ruby Port, lemon juice, and spiced cranberry

Lit Fuse

The Lit Fuse is a cocktail made with Los Siete Misterios Doba -Yej Meszal, and flavors of banana, coconut, and smoked chili bitters,

Pludnerer’s Punch

Plunderer’s Punch is made with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, blackberry, vanilla, and a hint of citrus. It’s served in a special souvenir pirate skull mug.

Wines and Exclusive Draft Beers

The Beak and Barrel will also be home to exclusive draft beer, including Victory Brewing Co. Pirate’s Paradise Blonde Ale and Wicked Weed Brewing Berried Treasure Session Sour, as well as bottled and canned lager and IPAs, such as Modelo Especial Lager, Red Stripe Lager, and Bell’s Two Hearted IPA.

Wine by the glass will also be available from various places around the world, includign the Spice Route ‘Chakalaka’ Red Blend, Quinta de Santiago Vinho Verde, and the Viarae Prosecco.

The Story Behind the Beak and Barrel

The story behind The Beak and Barrel is that it was established by pirate rumrunner, Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, and her first mate, Rummy. Rummy serves as the tavern’s quartermaster, keeping an eye on the place from his roost atop the bar. While he’s retired from the pirate’s life, Rummy is a dutiful crewman to Merry and will share tales of piracy or lead the bar in a rousing toast. Rummy will share a striking resemblance to the original Barker Bird!

The Mess

The largest and central space at the tavern was once the mess hall for Spanish soldiers, now known simply as “The Mess.” Here you’ll find long tables across the room for visitors to take a seat.

Here you’ll spot a large bar anchoring one side of the room, cobbled together with salvaged portions of a cursed shipwreck. At its center, there’s a skull-shaped stern with a collection of grogs and brews, such as the Enchanted Rum Bottle. This was gifted to Merry by the enchantress Tia Dalma and serves as the source of the tavern’s specialty brews.

Captains’ Quarters

Another room is the Captain’s Quarters, which was once the living quarters of the Spanish Comandante. However, while there’s fine artwork and drapery, it has shown signs of wear and tear from blades and burn marks over the years!

Above the fireplace, look out for five mounted miniature ships in glass bottles, rumored to represent pirates from every corner of the world banding together to defeat tyranny. These bottles have been known to come alive and engage in battle!

When Will The Beak and Barrel Open?

The Beak and Barrel will officially open in Adventureland on August 29, 2025.

Location

The new space will be located in the space formerly occupied by the Pirates League makeover experience. This is near the exit of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, right by the Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the gift shop at the exit of the attraction.

Will There Be Beak and Barrel Merchandise?

Yes, there will be Beak and Barrel-themed merchandise. Disney has teased items such as a new T-shirt inspired by the lounge, along with a Parrot Shoulder Plush. These will be available at the store next door, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaa.
