Our Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar review lets you know which of the Hangar Bar Christmas foods are worth the price.

Jock Lindsey is simply having a wonderful Christmastime. Any eatery even loosely connected to The Adventurers Club is one you should already have on your Christmas list (don’t miss Skipper Canteen for this reason). The details in the decor are always worth a closer look, and with a dash of holiday cheer thrown in, this is one cozy stop to gather those Christmas feels.

  • Holiday Ham and Brie; $9.00
    • Watercress, Granny Smith Apples, and Pomegranate Seeds

Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar: “Another winner! The menu description doesn’t actually say this is a flatbread, but it comes on a cute little wooden board shaped like a sleigh, and does not disappoint. The bread to toppings ratio is perfect, and the brie isn’t overshadowed by the toppings.”

Grandma’s Favorite Sliders

  • Grandma’s Favorite Sliders; $14.00
    • Venison Sausage Patties, Arugula, Tomato, and Cranberry Aïoli on House-made Buns

Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar: “These perfectly cooked sliders are a must if you’re swinging by Jock Lindsay’s! The meat is tender, juice, and oh-so-flavorful. I’m not usually a fan of fruity compotes on my burgers, but the cranberry aioli gave these sliders some extra pizzazz without being too sweet.”

Crispy-fried Brussels Sprouts

  • Crispy-fried Brussels Sprouts; $8.00
    • with Crispy Applewood Bacon and Warm Bacon Vinaigrette
Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar: “These may have been the best brussel sprouts I’ve ever eaten. They were fork tender, with a thin crispy outside. I’m not sure what they seasoned these sprouts with, but it may have been pixie dust. They were just that yummy.”

C9 Light Deviled Eggs

  • C9 Light Deviled Eggs; $12.00
    • Colored Deviled Eggs with Shrimp and Tobiko Caviar
Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar: “I’m personally not a fan of eating dyed eggs. The food coloring just confuses my brain into wondering what strange and unnatural animal I’m eating. But I did try one and it tasted like a regular hard-boiled egg. The yolk filling was delicious, but the true star of this dish is the shrimp. Cooked just right, and nicely seasoned, I was temped to pick off all the shrimps and just eat them solo. But that wouldn’t have been nice for my table mates.”

Lumps of Coal

Plenty of lumps of coal, I musta been naughty. Photo by Rain Blanken

  • Lumps of Coal; $12.00
    • Cookies and Cream Ganache “coal”
Editorial Director, Rain Blanken, “All you need to know here is that the lil dipping sauce is EXACTLY like Cadbury Egg filling. The lumps are Oreo-style truffles that you can dip in the sauce for a bit of very sweet, but very good Christmas heaven. The presentation makes this one a show-stopper when it arrives, adding to your cute holiday festivities. It’s a lot though… definitely plan on sharing with at least one friend, and pair with a drink like the Yule Mule that isn’t so sweet.”

Yule Mule

  • Yule Mule; $13.00
    • Bombay Sapphire Gin, Ginger Beer, Cranberry Juice, and Rosemary Simple Syrup
Editorial Director, Rain Blanken, “I’m not a fan of sweet drinks, so this was my jam right here. The herbal flavors complimented the gin in a way that had me ready to get cozy in front of the fireplace. Pairs well with a sweet treat like the lumps of coal because it isn’t a sugary drink.”

ClausMo

  • ClausMo; $16.00
    • Traditional Cosmopolitan with Absolut Citron Vodka, Cointreau, and Cranberry and Lime Juices with a shimmery twist garnished with a Sugared Rim

Communications Director, Tatjana Lazar: “If you’re a cosmo fan, this is the drink for you! It comes with a pretty red sugar rim and swirling glitter! What’s not to love? It’s the perfect not-too-sweet, festive cocktail.”
