We’ve got photos of the 2021 Grand Floridian gingerbread house, a Christmas staple at Walt Disney World.
Is it even Christmas at Disney World if you didn’t see the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian? Much like the Holiday Cookie Stroll at EPCOT and the Christmas projects on Cinderella Castle (RIP Dream Lights), the Grand Floridian’s massive gingerbread house is a staple of the holidays at Disney World.
How They Bake the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House
Believe it or not, the gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian is edible. Disney’s top-tier chefs use real ingredients to design the house each year. For 2021, the gingerbread house boasts the following ingredients:
- 1,050 lbs of honey
- 140 pints of egg whites
- 600 lbs of powdered sugar
- 700 lbs of chocolate
- 800 lbs of flour
- 35 lbs of spices
And, of course, because it’s Disney, the official ingredients list also includes “tons of creativity” and “Disney magic and pixie dust.”

Make Your Own Disney Gingerbread House
Hop on the monorail after checking out the 2021 Grand Floridian gingerbread house and make your way over to the Contemporary, where they sell gingerbread house kits to bring the magic home. WDW Magazine reporter Julie will be making one of these with her son in the coming days, and we’ll review the experience right here on the blog.
