We now have a name and opening date for the upcoming Disney’s Polynesian Village DVC tower! We’ll be sharing everything you need to know about the new addition to Walt Disney World, including when you’ll be able to stay there!

There are a handful of Disney projects we’ve been eagerly waiting to hear opening dates for. These include the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (sometime this summer!), as well as a reimagined Country Bear Jamboree and Test Track. Another project we’ve been waiting for more information on is a new Disney Vacation Club Tower that is currently being constructed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. And now, we have both a name and opening month for the new project!

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

Disney Parks Blog has shared the exciting news that the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is projected to open in December 2024. The t0-story tower will overlook Seven Seas Lagoon, located right next door to the remainder of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. The new Disney Vacation Club property will be in convenient walking distance to the Monorail (which has a station located inside the Grand Ceremonial House), with a longer walking path connecting you to the Grand Floridian walkway to Magic Kingdom as well.

Along with the name and opening month, Disney has shared a peek inside Island Tower! The designs were created exclusively for the exterior, including a Manta Ray that symbolizes freedom, protection, and grace. Inside the lobby is an art panel installation on the ceiling that is inspired by several Polynesian Islands. Each showcases wildlife native to a locale.

Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with dozens of artists worldwide to create the unique artwork, which will be displayed throughout Island Tower. Each piece is inspired by the spirit of conservation, with materials used such as preserved moss walls and sculptures made of recycled fishing nets.
