We’re sharing our experience with Olaf Scavenger Hunt in EPCOT for the 2023 EPCOT Festival of the Holidays!
Each EPCOT festival features a beloved activity enjoyed by guests of all ages—the festival scavenger hunt. For this year’s EPCOT Festival of the Holidays, Olaf is back and sharing holiday traditions from different countries in his Olaf’s Traditional Holiday Expedition. Here’s how to play Olaf’s Traditional Holiday Expedition 2023—as well as spoilers on where to locate each Olaf in the World Showcase. Hey, no shame if you need a little help!
How to Play Olaf Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT

First, you will need to purchase a scavenger hunt map and stickers for $9.99 (before discounts or tax). You can find maps at participating locations including Creations Shop, Disney Traders, World Traveler, Port of Entry, Getaway Gifts, and other festival centers around the World Showcase.

The stickers are located on the back of the map with corresponding holiday traditions for each item.
Tips for Finding Olaf
- Hunt during the day since a lot of Olaf’s hiding places are on top of buildings or in locations that are hard to see in the dark.
- You don’t have to complete the hunt all at once or even complete it at all to receive your prize.
- All of Olaf’s hiding locations are found outdoors!
Spoilers: Olaf’s Hiding Locations
Now that we’ve covered the details, let’s get to the fun part! I usually like to start my scavenger hunts in Canada but you can start wherever you want.
*Spoiler Alert* I will be sharing pictures and details of each location!
Canada
Head through the Le Cellier archway of the pavilion to find Olaf hanging out in the Victoria Gardens with some gingerbread.

United Kingdom
Enter the garden courtyard of the United Kingdom pavilion and Olaf with holiday crackers is located above a shop window display.

France
Olaf can be found with yule logs in the maze garden in the France Pavilion.

L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen

Morocco
Walk past the Morocco Pavilion towards the Oasis Sweets and Sips stand and you’ll find Olaf with olives in the flower beds.

Japan
Olaf is perched on a rock with kagami mochi in the koi pond in front of Katsura Grill quick service.

America Adventure
Olaf enjoys helping with decorating the Christmas trees. He can be spotted with a kinara under the Christmas tree that is in front of the holiday booth.

Olaf must be craving some turkey legs. Find him on the roof of the Fife & Drum Tavern with some sheet music.

Italy
You don’t even have to go into the Italy Pavilion to find Olaf. Walk to the railing facing the water, look down and you’ll spot Olaf on the bottom of the steps with a panettone.

Germany
Olaf must be in the mood for some toy shopping because he is hiding in a window flower bed right next to the Der Teddybar shop with peppermint on display.

China
Similar to Japan, this Olaf is located close to water. Take the walkway on the right side of the pavilion and you will find Olaf hiding in the grass with floating lanterns.

Norway

Mexico
If you’re heading to Mexico from Norway, Olaf is very easy to spot. He is on the window balcony of La Hacienda de San Angel with poinsettias.
