Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya is a new restaurant that will be opening in the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT later this summer, replacing the previous Tokyo Dining location.

There is so much to do in EPCOT, from incredible rides to checking out all the EPCOT festivals. Eating and drinking around World Showcase is just one of the many reasons to visit the second oldest Disney World park, and starting this summer, guests will have a new option for their dining needs! Disney has revealed that a new location will be opening at the Japan pavilion — Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. The new restaurant will offer a table-service dining experience in a sharable Izakaya-style for guests to enjoy.

Opening later this summer, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya will celebrated Japan’s seasonal festivals, with each month bringing a “new celebration” for guests. As a few examples, Disney shared “hanging tanzaku to celebrate Tanabata in July,” as well as “moon-viewing dumplings in September.” The atmosphere of the restaurant will also represent Japan’s festivals, with hand-painted artwork and lanterns highlighting some of the natural wonders of the country.

The restaurant will have a full menu that will include Japanese favorites, including sushi and teppan items, featuring an open sushi bar and grill. The location will be on the second floor of the Japan pavilion, and will offer views of EPCOT and the World Showcase Lagoon (meaning it will have a great fireworks view).

Disney shared a few highlights from the menu, including the Kobore Sushi (negi toro and nakaochi tuna paired with salmon roe and green onion), Tokyo Negi Roll (green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aïoli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapeno), Funamori (sashimi and sushi arranged on a boat-shaped platter), and The Monster Roll at the sushi bar.

Diners will also be able to sample dishes from the world of Japanese Izakaya, which is a type of casual pub-style restaurant. Izakaya culture emphasizes sharing plates of food while enjoying drinks and the company of friends, so the menu features a variety of small dishes to enjoy. These include Karaage Chicken, Salmon Misoyaki, and Tomato Salad with Avocado.

The grill will also serve up items such a Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savory pancake made with flour, eggs, and water, and filled with shredded cabbage and bacon, and topped with okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.

You can visit Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya when it opens later this summer in EPCOT.
