New Nature-Inspired Resort

On October 18th, Disney announced that it plans to build a new nature-inspired resort along the shoreline of Bay Lake in between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This new resort is said to include over 900 rooms as well as Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas. It will be Disney’s 16th DVC property.

The aesthetic of the resort will take inspiration from the surrounding natural elements to celebrate Walt’s love of nature. The location of this resort will give guests easy access to the Magic Kingdom as well as the other Disney resorts around Bay Lake. The new resort is said to be completed by 2022.

Coronado Springs Resort

In addition to the news about the new nature-inspired resort, we wanted to remind you of two other resort changes coming to Walt Disney World.

Coronado Springs Resort is currently undergoing some major construction, which is said to be completed by 2019. The reimagined plans feature a new 15-story tower complete with 545 new rooms and rooftop dining. In addition to the new tower, the current rooms have been updated with new fixtures and furnishings.

Estimated to open in fall 2019, the Disney Riviera Resort is slated to be the 15th Disney Vacation Club property with approximately 300 units spread across a variety of accommodation types. A new skyway transportation system will connect the new resort to other areas on Walt Disney World property. (Proposed – Artist Concept Only, © Disney)

Disney Riviera Resort

The Disney Riviera Resort is also set to be completed by 2019 and will feature approximately 300 rooms. This will be Disney’s 15th DVC property, and will be the first all-DVC property to open since Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened in 2004. This resort will be able to connect to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT’s International Gateway via the highly anticipated Disney Skyliner.

We will keep you updated as the opening dates for these resorts get closer!
