Four new dining experiences have been announced to be coming soon to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort.
There’s a lot of newness coming to Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort! Earlier this year, it was revealed that several new food and entertainment spots would soon be coming to the Downtown Disney District. And now, Disney has revealed even more future plans for new experiences coming to the area!
New Dining Experiences Coming to Downtown Disney
Disney has revealed new dining experiences coming to Downtown Disney in the future. They have announced plans for Parkside Market, which will be a new, curated collection of “diverse culinary concepts” brought to life under one roof as part of the expansion on the west end. The dining experiences available there will include Seoul Sister, Sip & Sonder, and GG’s Chicken Shop.
Seoul Sister will be a fast-casual modern eatery serving a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) served with a California twist. According to Disney, “Executive Chef Kelly Kim will showcase bold Korean flavors through marinated meats, colorful vegetables and savory sauces over rice, noodles or salad, plus appetizers, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu, and hand-crafted drinks.”
Sip & Sonder
Sip & Sonder comes from founders Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas. It’s a Black women-owned brand that the Los Angeles Times recognized as one of the best cafés in L.A.! At the location, guests can enjoy Sip & Sonder’s signature lattes, frozen drinks, fresh treats, and Caribbean-inspired bites.
GG’s Chicken Shop
GG’s Chicken Shop is from Boka Restaurant Group and was founded by James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, alongside Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen. Named after Wolen’s mother Geri, the shop will have a menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides. After opening their first brick-and-mortar location in Chicago earlier this year, this will be their first location on the West Coast.
Additionally, a second-story bar will be available as an al fresco spot where you can enjoy signature cocktails and mocktails using local ingredients. There will also be items like frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails, and spirit-free elixirs.
New Stage and Lawn Coming to Downtown Disney
Later this year, Downtown Disney will also be opening a new stage and lawn for special events, activities, and musical entertainment on the west end of the district. The new area will feature a new sculptural tower designed by Nikkolas Smith, and will pay tribute to the work of “pioneering architects of color in Southern California during the mid-20th century.”
