Shanghai Disney has revealed new details on the upcoming Zootopia-themed land coming to the park, including attractions, dining experiences, and more.

Ever since it was first announced, fans have been eagerly awaiting more details on the upcoming Zootopia land coming to Shanghai Disney Resort. While we’ve gotten sneak previews of the upcoming animatronics, as well as concept art of the land, details have been relatively sparse on the highly anticipated expansion. However, today Disney revealed some exciting new details, giving us our first look at the upcoming attractions at the park as well as new treats that will be available! We’re sharing all the new details on the Zootopia land that you need to know.

Zootopia: Hot Pursuit

Disney shared a first look at the upcoming ride that will be part of the land — Zootopia: Hot Pursuit! On the ride, guests will be able to become rookie police officers with the Zootopia Police Department.

The storyline is set after the events of the film when residents of Zootopia are gearing up to celebrate Zootopia Day with a big concert featuring Gazelle. You’ll start off your journey being greeted by Officer Clawhauser, which is the animatronic we first got to check out during the 2022 D23 Expo.

However, your time with Officer Clawhauser is cut short when an alarm goes off, and you’re brought in for an emergency briefing with Chief Bogo. Here you’ll learn that Gazelle has been kidnapped ahead of the concert.

As rookie police officers, you’re assigned as backup to Officer Judy Hopps and her partner, Nick Wilde. Disney revealed a first look at the ride vehicles you’ll be in, which resemble police cars.

As part of the ride, you’ll get to see some of Zootopia’s different terrains, including the ice of Tundra Town, Sahara Square, Mystic Springs Oasis, and Rainforest District.

The entertaining ride is sure to be a hit with guests, featuring some of the most iconic settings from the film in a thrilling chase that will be fun for the whole family.

Meet and Interact With Zootopia Characters

While you can spot some of your favorite Zootopia characters on the ride, you’ll be able to actually interact with them as well through entertainment experiences. You can check out characters like Fru Fru and her father, Mr. Big, as well as Koslov the polar bear, Flash the sloth, Yax the yak, Duke Weaselton the weasel, and the Hopps family in this interactive space. They will be interacting amongst themselves, as well as guests, throughout the day in the windows of the Zootopia buildings.

Along with this experience, you can also take a selfie with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde at the Zootopia Recruitment Station.

Jumbeaux’s Cafe

As for treats, you’ll get to try out some of the delicious bites from the film over at the Jumbeaux’s Cafe. The ice cream shop was a prominent part of the film, and will sell recognizable food such as the Zootopia Popsicle in the shape of a paw print.

You can also pick up other eats like a Chocolate Marshmallow (beloved by Officer Clawhauser), a giant popsicle, and more.

New Shopping Experience

There will also be new shopping experiences that you can check out as part of the Zootopia land. Located by the entrance of Mane Street, you can check out Fashions by Fru Fru, owned by the character Fru Fru.

Here you can pick up different themed products, like the Zootopia Cute Collection. There will also be apparel, accessories, and more that you can bring home as the perfect souvenir. Inside the shop you’ll also find two special areas themed after the characters of Yax and Duke Weaselton.
