Disney has announced that its 2023 National Geographic Expeditions Signature Land itineraries will be available for booking starting May 26, 2022.

From classic Disney movies to Pixar to Marvel to Star Wars, Disney offers us plenty of ways to escape the world we live in. But one of Disney’s other properties, National Geographic, is all about exploring the very real places and cultures that inhabit our world.

And the National Geographic Expeditions are a way for fans of the magazine or just those with a thirst for adventure to get out and experience the very places and people the magazine covers.

Just Announced: 30 Signature Land Itineraries for 2023

This week, Disney announced the official launch of its 2023 lineup of National Geographic Expeditions Signature Land itineraries. For the 2023 calendar year, Nat Geo will offer more than 30 unique adventures in its portfolio.

National Geographic Expedition Signature Land trips are specially designed trips that allow travelers to see rare sites around the globe. These trips will immerse travelers in cultures and provoke curiosity about the untold stories across the globe.

What makes these itineraries extra special is that you’ll travel with actual National Geographic Experts — photographers, biologists, archaeologists, writers, filmmakers, conservationists, and researchers who have a special magazine for the kinds of stories National Geographic loves to tell.

The 2023 lineup includes a revamped favorite: Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia: Ancient Temples and Natural Wonders. Let’s dive into what this trip includes.

This special itinerary through National Geographic Expeditions includes new experiences and past favorites. On the trip, you’ll encounter:

  • A sampan tour along the canals of Tan Phong Islet.
  • A cycle excursion through stunning villages.
  • A trip to the Cai Rang Floating Market in the Mekong Delta.
  • A visit to the Angkor Conservation Center to encounter thousands of protected statues.
  • A trip to the Golden Silk Pheach Preservation Center to see the fully integrated silk-making process, including raising silkworms.
  • Plenty of delicious and authentic meals, from street fare to tasty Vietnamese iced coffee — with a fancy five-course gala dinner thrown into the mix.
  • Historical sites like Emperor Tu Duc and Kahi Dinh Tombs and the Purple Forbidden City.

Perhaps most exciting for fans of the magazine and the work they do is the in-depth look that travelers will get on two Nat Geo conservation initiatives: saving Vietnam’s Wildlife Rescue Center and the amazing project to protect the Asiatic black bears (or “moon bears”) at the Tat Kuang Si Rescue Center.

Departure dates for this special National Geographic Expedition start in Dec. 2022 and continue through March 2023.
